Hari Raya Long Weekend 2010

9 Sept 2010 - Thursday

Long weekend ahead for Kayden, meaning he need not wake up so early for the next few days and being fed and changed and then go to school. LOL. He came back and started playing with his favourite toys - CARS!!

Kaleb crying and screaming his lungs out. Kayden was oblivious to it and started touching the bouncer. LOL. I am so glad that Kayden is immune to Kaleb's cries else I won't know what to do when the 2 of them wake up and cry together in the middle of the night. LOL. Really hope Kaleb will grow up faster so that I can have a good sleep throughout the night... waking up only when it's meant to wake up!!
He suddenly stopped crying! He just likes to cry and wants us to carry. MIL very heartpain and always want to carry him when he starts to fuss. But if this becomes a habit, the one taking care of him will be in deep trouble at night and this person will be MOI!!
Kayden "lecturing" his brother, telling him not to cry so often. LOL. Kaleb, be a good boy... just like how your kor kor used to be!
Blur look... Hand belongs to MIL... longing to carry him... but being stopped by us.
Trying to get into my "good books" coz he is interested in my camera!! Will make sure that I keep this new love high up as he is very capable of dropping things and spoiling them! (This was what happened to the previous cam. =S)

10 Sept 2010 - Friday

Didn't go anywhere... went to eat Sakae Sushi and then back home. Evening time, no one at home except us and so we ordered MacDonalds. Kayden loves the filet o fish.

11 Sept 2010 - Saturday

Went to view some apartments. Won't be buying so soon... just go and see see look look for fun. LOL.

Playing with his beloved while we were getting ready
The 2 brothers and Kaleb has a funny expression
Closer look of his funny expression. LOL. Double chin. When people see him, they don't believe that he is a premmie. LOL. Very chubby, they claimed. Guess this is the "power" of BM and this "power" comes from the food that I eat and food that I eat are prepared by my mum. Thanks, Mummy. =) You are the best!!

In the evening, met up with long long time friends at Changi Airport Terminal 3 @ TCC. Had a very good time catching up with them. Reached home around 2am and Kenneth was amazed that we had so much to gossip. LOL. Been such a long time since I had some social life. Think I should do this more often, since Kenneth has people helping him during the night with the boys. I should have some "time off" during the night.
Friends since 17/18 years old! We had come such a long way... =) More gatherings, please...

12 Sept 2010 - Sunday

The girls were raving about PS Cafe @ Dempsey when we met up on Sat night and so, I decided to give it a try for their brunch the next day! Sad to say... when we reached there, it was sooooo crowded!! We were very hungry and couldn't join the queue. In the end, we went to Zento Japanese Cuisine which is also at that area.

Kayden looks like such a big boy here!
Seriously drinking water....
Some spicy scallop sushi... very yummy!! Kayden loves them too!!
My tempura and salmon bento set
The very thick slab of salmon which is cooked just nice...
Kenneth's Seafood Yakitori Fried Rice... nice too but a bit salty for my taste
Playing with tissue paper...
Don't know fussing over what... think Kenneth took away the piece of tissue paper...
The next minute, smiling happily... oh well...
Very long lashes... but too bad he's not a girl. LOL.
Dessert!! Chocolate Mousse!!
Simply delicious!
Very happy and satisfied at the end of the dessert...
Zento!!

Food is nice... ambience is good.. price is a bit steep though... 2 set course, 2 beverages and one sushi... cost us close to $100!!! But we will definitely go back there again. =)

Lovely Sunday!

Went to have our lunch at Paradise Inn @ Thomson Plaza last Sunday. Ordered Seafood Bee Hoon for Kayden and he refused to eat!!! So very angry... Don't know what's wrong with his appetite these days... but I am glad he can eat real well in school....

Eating the very yummy sweet soft peanuts... Pencil and paper was suppose to be used by us to place our order. But this boy, upon seeing the pencil, kept screaming!!! He simply loves pens/pencils/markers/etc. =S But luckily he will "loan" the pencil to me when I placed the order.
Opening his mouth... waiting for Daddy to feed him the peanut...
Peanuts is yummy!!
Very satisfying look!

Pop over to mum's place for a while and Kaleb was crying and crying. Not sure what was wrong with him. Even my sister helped out!! LOL. She didn't know how to carry at all but coz Kenneth and I need to take our dinner, and mum was feeding Kayden, sis lent us her arms... to carry Kaleb. LOL.

Drinking his milk before bed... look at his sleepy eyes...

Our Lovely Saturday!

Kenneth has recover from the HFMD. He got the letter from doctor last Saturday saying that he is well and we can finally go out!! Went to Peach Garden @ Orchid Country Club for dim sum after going to Kayden's childcare centre. We love the dim sum coz they are simply fabulous!!

After dim sum, went to the airport, Terminal 3. This has become our favourite spot for the weekends these days coz it is spacious and almost empty most of the times, allowing lots of space for Kayden to run. But sad to say, last weekend, he refused to walk on his own, kept wanting to be carried!!

Wanted to go to The Coffee Club but it was FULL HOUSE (lots of students studying) and in the end, went to TCC. Bumped into colleague, Lay Peng and her family. She just delivered to a pretty princess in April. Didn't get to see her daughter coz she claimed that bringing her 2 boys out are a handful, they can't cope with a 3rd one. LOL.

We also saw Kenneth's colleague who didn't seems very pleased to be spotted by us. LOL. He covered his face when he saw Kenneth. Ha ha... He was doing something "bad" so trying to hide. Ha ha...

happily seated at his "throne"

A shot with Daddy... who he is so "sticky" to him these days!!! Gosh.. must be coz they are sleeping together nowadays... I am so jealous!! LOL.

A shot with Mummy... =)

Kaleb was sleeping when drinks and cakes were served. He was still sleeping when we were eating. LOL.
Daddy checking out the number of teeth that he has....
Very restless liao.. means he is going cranky soon... =S
Gave him some biscuits to delay his "cranky-ness"...
Holding and biting the biscuit... Kenneth has finally given up on stopping Kayden from dirtying his hands. LOL. Oh well, we can always bring him and go wash up after that...
The little one's turn to get cranky... "I WANT MY MILK NOW!!!"
Kayden looks exactly like Kenneth when he was young... and so, maybe we know how Kayden will looks like when he gets old. LOL.
After Airport, went over to Brother's place to consult him in some property matters.... Government changes the rules and we were a bit "lost"...
Shannon, the big sister, feeding Kayden some tarts... and this boy also knows he needs to sit on the little stool... LOL.

2 months checkup + jab

Brought Kaleb to PD @ Thomson Medical Centre for his 2 months check up plus jab + oral today (6-in-1 and rotavirus). He is 4.81kg and is "standing" at 56cm now. Put on 1 kg over 1 month's time. =) PD said he is growing very very well. Just that he has enzema and I was told that I need to watch my diet (coz he is taking my BM). Asked me to avoid taking nuts, dairy products and also seafood (except fish).

He also has cradle cap. Seems like all these were found on Kayden last year too. LOL. PD quite funny... told us we need to hurry and buy insurance for Kaleb coz babies who have enzema are more prone to having asthma. So, need to buy insurance just in case he needs to be admitted into hospital. LOL. In any case, we long ago wanted to get this for him, just that no time to meet my lovely friend cum agent - Chole. LOL.

Will post up pictures of my 2 boys soon... =)

3rd Day @ PlayGroup

Yesterday was Kayden's 3rd day at PlayGroup. When I went to fetch him, he was sitting on the little chair, beside his teacher. All the other older kids were either sitting at the table or on the floor. It was such a cute sight to see Kayden seated there. =)

Teacher said Kayden's appetite is good and loves to try new stuff!! But he doesn't want to eat at home. Ok, maybe cooking is not that fabulous (note: I am not the cook. LOL). But when we brought him out to restaurant, he also refuse to eat much. =( While, Teacher said maybe at the centre, he sees other kids eating, so he is being "encouraged" and will finish everything. We ever asked PD on his weight gain (slow) and his tiny build. PD said, "Daddy is so skinny, he is just following his genes." =.="

Anyway, Kayden was munching away when I reached. Teacher said she was eating long beans and he also wanted to eat so she gave him some. =S very greedy boy!! Guess he was hungry coz the last feed he had was at 3pm (tea break) and he was given kaya toast which portion was very pathetic. Kayden is a bread lover and can eat loads of them everytime. But the serving at the centre is only half a slice of bread!! And so, upon reaching home, he was soooooo hungry that he finished all the rice + egg + fish!! Been so long since he can eat this well at home. LOL. Guess should really starve him in school so that he will eat his dinner when back at home. Then I don't need to have headache of what to give him for dinner everyday.

Checked the milk powder container, he was given milk twice. Fair enough. As for his pampers, all were being used up (4 pieces)! Coz he poo poo twice. Very good!! But then... they didn't give him water!!! His water bottle came back with the same amount of water. Sigh... If only I can continue to put him at the Infant side... though much more expensive but at least the teachers there really take very good care of him (coz not much kiddos there). Oh well, to console myself, Kayden will grow up eventually... as for now, we just need to monitor and see that he is given water everyday. (Note: went down today and spoke to the teacher already, told them they need to give him water constantly coz this little fellow can really sweat.)

2nd Day @ PlayGroup

Last Friday was Kayden's 2nd day at PlayGroup. As usual, left him at Infant side in the morning, let him "warm up" first before the teachers brought him over to join his friends at PlayGroup. Went to fetch him in the evening and he was watching some kiddo programme with the other kids who were waiting to be fetched home. Observed him for a while at the window and realised that he really enjoyed himself very much. =) Watched a bit of television, then went to the back and joined the other kids (all BOYS) to run around. He didn't cry or whine when he saw me. =)

Reached home, unpack all his stuff. Realised that the teachers never gave him any serving of MILK!! I prepared 3 servings and all came back untouched in the milk container! And, prepared 4 pampers, they only changed him ONCE throughout the 11 plus hours when he was there!! Luckily he did not develop any rash at the bum.

Kenneth and I were very angry as well as upset over this. Felt that as if Kayden was being "ill-treated". We went straight down to the centre the next day (which was a Saturday). Not all the teachers were on duty and spoke to the one who was there. Told her our concern and after talking for a long long time, when I asked who was the teacher in charge of PlayGroup, she replied "Actually it is me!" LOL. I think she was so afraid that I would bark at her and thus did not "declare" that she is the "culprit" upfront. LOL.

I told her, I understand that too many kids under her care (9 kiddos!!) and all I ask is to give him milk and change him regularly. =( Kayden is already so small and tiny, needs to drink milk more to beef up! She said she will give milk to him according to the timing that we specified. As for changing of diaper, they normally get changed after shower and also after their nap. (note: nap time is after showering, so is there a need to change again so fast??)

Guess we will monitor and see how it goes... If things never improve, we will consider changing to another centre or getting a maid (which is not very ideal). Coz really not worth to pay $900 every month and Kayden is not being taken care of properly. Sigh... =(

03 September 2010

1st Day @ PlayGroup

Yesterday was Kayden's 1st day at PlayGroup. Brought him there early in the morning and was very surprise that most of the teachers from Childcare side knows him!! Since it is his 1st day, Teacher Fatimah (supervisor) said to bring Kayden to Infant side first, bring him back over to PlayGroup during afternoon. I left after he settled down at IFC with the teachers.

Went to fetch him in the evening and saw him drinking his milk on the mattress. Spoke to Teacher Sue and she said they brought Kayden over from Infant side at 10.30am to have his lunch and he finished all of it (Macaroni Soup)!! He was fine when they shower him, no cries or fuss. He took his tea break (Glutinous Rice with Peach - quite weird combination, in my opinion =p) and wiped out everything! Only towards 5pm, when he saw other kids going back, he started whining. LOL. Then he took his milk bottle to teacher, and teacher made milk for him. True enough, he finished everything. =)

When he saw me at the door, he broke into tears and came running towards me. LOL. I am just so glad that he is adapting well during this transition period from Infant Care to Childcare. =)
