Diving Head Down!

The thing we fear most happened on Monday night... Kayden dived head down from the bed when we were sleeping!! Kenneth was working night shift and like always, we went to bed at 9pm+. At 11pm+, there was a loud thud followed by his cries! The thud was so loud that even my BIL, whose room is next door, heard it!!

I jumped out from bed and found Kayden lying tummy down on the floor. Carried him and he continued crying. Switched on the light coz sensed something was wrong and saw the big red bruise on his forehead! Panic!! Didn't know what to do coz didn't want my in laws to know (they will make me even more kan cheong). Called Mum and she said it's normal for kids to fall... but still, I was soooo scare (coz of the bruise) and started crying also. Luckily, Kayden went back to lala land after crying for few minutes (after I popped his pacifier back into his mouth).

I didn't dare to sleep from there on... Waited all the way till Kenneth came home at 3am+. He asked why I called him. He only realised the missed call on his cell when he reached home! How wonderful! After his shower, I told him the horror happening and he actually woke Kayden up!! Did some "inspection" and by then, the swell had went down a bit...

Took urgent leave and together, we brought Kayden out to "face the music" (aka my in laws) in the morning and my FIL was rather displease (with a bit of anger on his face) and we lied that Kayden fell after Kenneth came back (shared the scolding between us in case there are any) and we 3 were in bed. And thank god, by then, the swell had gone down, only left the blue-black. Brought Kayden to the GP and doctor said should be okie coz he did not scream or cry when doc rub gently on the bruise. Told us to monitor him for the next 48 hours... look out for signs of vomitting and lethargic-ness.

Went out to buy 2 mattresses and 4 pillows yesterday noon while Kayden was napping. Starting from last night, we decided that we will just sleep on the floor, in case "accident" happen again!! Kayden adapts to the floor very fast but it is me... I can never get used to it... so half way through, I climbed back on to the bed. *LOL* Leaving father and son on the floor.
It was a horrifying incident... Hope such things will not happen again in future!

Random...

Pictures taken some time back on one of the normal weekday...

FIL put a bib around Kayden coz he has been drooling non stop these days. More teeth coming out! Really big eyes he has! Heard that he looks just like Kenneth when he was young... just that, Kenneth's eyes are bigger!
His favourite "activity" when on my in laws' bed... walking around, holding on to the frame.
Distracted... coz someone calling him from behind.
Reaching out for the camera!
His favourite toys in our room... stacking the blocks up...
Smiling to his Daddy who was on the bed...

"hello hello"??

One of the phone at home is spoil and so, it becomes one of Kayden's toy. At times, he will know how to pronounce "allo allo".. This video shows him with the phone. The one that captured him saying "allo allo" got deleted by himself when he was playing with my camera.

Our Relaxing Sunday!

Brought Kayden to Ikea @ Tampines on Sunday. So crowded!! It was raining heavily also but luckily it was a shelter carpark. Walked around the place, trying to get some idea for our new home. So excited! So many things to look forward to...

Trying out the kiddo bed... He was rather tired coz he missed his napping time... But, oh well, it's only once a week that he miss it... no harm done.. =)
Really love it...
Think if he leave him there and walked away, he would really fell asleep...
Next, we put him into this red crib...
Really loves it...
Then he refused to leave! Kept grabbing on to the pole and refused to move one inch! If only he loves his own crib at home like this.
Staring fiercely at us when we asked him to go... and kept shaking his head... *LOL*
On a girly bed... what a nice colour!
Swing like chair...

Wanted to dine at Ikea but the crowd was terrible so in the end, we drove down to Changi Airport Terminal 3 to have Secret Recipe!

While waiting for his food...
Waiting and waiting.... which he eventually ate some fish, bread dipped in mushroom soup and banana chocolate cake... So much good food which resulted in him refusing to eat his porridge (after hours) when we reached home! *LOL*

Wanting me to carry him again!

Kayden's progress...

Kayden will be turning 14 months old this coming Sunday! Till date, he still doesn't know how to walk (too lazy), doesn't want to hold his milk bottle (also lazy) and doesn't talk also!! There was one day, where he said "mum mum" (means want food) the whole day and we were so excited! But after that day, not a single word (that makes sense) comes out from his little mouth. *LOL* He is very good at mimicking what we do. We tend to apply "ru-yi" oil on him after bathing. We always rub our palms then put them on his tummy. He does the same too! *LOL* He also try to scrape apple by using the spoon after seeing my mum did it (to feed him). He's able to stand up on his own for few seconds while on the bed. When put him on the floor, he will be busy crawling around, taking stuff down from the coffee table, etc... Maybe he will start walking soon? Then another "nightmare" will start... *LOL*

Recently, he learns how to shake his head when he doesn't want something. Like when he's full, he will shake his head or when someone wants to carry him, to show his objection, he will shake his head vigorously. *LOL* It's a very funny sight, will try to capture this "action" on video. *LOL*

These days, he will want to follow us when we go out. But when he sees Kenneth in his uniform, leaving for work, he will just wave good-bye, maybe he knows in no way is his Daddy gonna carry him when he's wearing the "blue suit". *LOL* But when he sees Kenneth in casual clothing and leaving the house, he will not wave but will cry and cry, stretching out his hands and wanna follow. Not a very good sight. Most of the mornings, when I leave for work, I will leave with a "broken heart". Sigh... How I wish I can just be a SAHM. Maybe next year. *LOL*

He is getting very sticky to me. Sometimes at night, he will want me to cradle him to sleep, just like a little baby. And whenever he has the chance to let me carry, he will not want to leave me, will cling on to me like a koala bear.... *LOL* Will be sending him to Childcare soon... Hope he is able to adapt... =)

6 months working "anniversary"

I just realised that I have been here, facing the trees and garden, for 6 months already! Gosh.... Seriously, I have no idea what I had contributed... (oppsss... praying hard that my boss won't read this). Everyday is a challenge coz we always pray hard that it's good "weather". *LOL*
Maybe I should go out this weekend and celebrate my worklife "survival". Ha ha...

Hong Kong 2010

We decided to go to Hong Kong this year. (oh well, we are back already...) And so, the 7 of us left on the early morning of 29 March 2010 and returned on the wee hours of 2 April 2010. This time round, the trip was very different as compared to my previous few times. It wasn't that rushing and most of the times was spent waiting for Kayden to wake up from his nap. *LOL* But still, I managed to buy lots of things!!! And like always, Kenneth came back without a single purchase. *LOL* Guess he has nothing to buy. How I wish my company provides me with uniform to wear to work everyday! *LOL*
Kayden was quite cooperative throughout the whole trip except for the fact that he was super duper sticky to me. Maybe coz he doesn't really have the chance to be like a koala bear, clinging on to me during the weekdays. Overall, it was a very good trip except for the minor hic-cups here and there... =) Only regret, never go up The Peak again!!!

Kayden with the 2 grandmothers...
Waiting for the coach to go for our one day tour trip...
Kayden looking more and more like Kenneth... according to many people...
At the restaurant...eating dim sum... before the grannies went to some jewellery shop and burnt a hole in their pockets. *LOL*
At Repluse Bay...
Very crowded... luckily it's very cool and windy...
Taking the cable car to go to Lantau Island... wind was so strong that the cable car was swaying left and right.. very exciting! *LOL*
A pose with the Big Buddha behind...
We braved the wind and walked a bit further to take this picture... rest of the people was waiting for us inside the shop.... coz too cold liao... and my BIL was afraid that the wind will blow him away. *LOL*
While waiting for the cable car to go down hill...
Went to Disneyland the next day... been a long long time since we took picture... just the 2 of us. *LOL*
With our bundle of joy....
It was a HOT day!!!! Poor Kayden was sweating like mad!!
Inside Disneyland... I realised, this is the "trademark" for all the Disneylands that I went to before... Japan and USA all have this Mickey face and the big clock at the entrance...
With Goofy...
Minnie teasing Kayden... Thank god he didn't break out crying...
Pretty pretty Minnie...

FIL with Kayden infront of the Small Small World!! (my favourite)
Inside Small Small World...
Fascinated with what he saw inside...

We waited till night at Disneyland coz Kayden was sleeping. *LOL* Managed to see the fireworks and after which, took the coach back to the hotel....

The next time when we go travelling again, guess will have to wait for a long long time... Target is to sell away the current flat and get our own flat early next year!! =) Sometimes I miss the life we used to have in USA... carefree... only the 3 of us. *LOL* Oh well, just have to accept reality and think positive... coz there are just too many pairs of hands at home, waiting to help whenever possible! *LOL*

Kayden's 2nd Haircut

Brought Kayden to Suntec Junior League for his 2nd haircut 2 weeks before we left for our Hong Kong trip, think some time mid March? *LOL* He was very well behaved during his 1st haircut but I can't say the same for the 2nd one. Maybe coz for this 2nd time, shaver was being used and he started to whine and cry when shaver touched his head. What's worse was that, there was another toddler at the next seat! They took turn to cry. *LOL* Didn't take pictures during his haircut coz I was the one carrying him to sit on my lap.

We had our lunch at Swensens and Kayden had his milk before his haircut.

Brought the kiddos along since it was the school holidays...

Blur look after the haircut... staring at the traffic just outside Mum's house... A sight he seldom get to see when he's at home coz we stay at ulu Sembawang! *LOL* (only can see the car park)

Finally realised that I was standing in front...
Point point point... these days he will just point at the things that he wants... it's so good to be a toddler... =)

08 April 2010

Cough Cough....

Kayden's fever is gone... since Monday and now, it's COUGH!!! Sigh... Seeing him coughing really makes my heart ache. This morning, was carrying him before I went to work and he coughed and puked all the milk out. Sigh... Hopefully he will recover soon...
But, despite the coughing, he is still very active and finally, at long last, my in-laws are letting him crawl around in the living room! *LOL* This crawling exercise no longer just happen once a week at my Mum's place. *LOL* He was so happy crawling around and chasing after my BIL (who was also on his fours). =) Wonder when will he start walking... by then, another set of "problem" might come coz need to keep a close watch on him all the times. *LOL*

Kayden's First Fever

We are back from Hong Kong! Actually been back since Saturday morning, 12am+... And Kayden was down with Fever!! This is the 1st time that he fall sick.
Brought him to GP on Saturday morning and temperature was still okie, 37.7 degree. But fever shot up on Sunday morning. Hurriedly brought him to KK Hospital. Stayed there from 4am+ till 9am+, spent most of the time waiting for him to pee (waited from 5am till 9am+). We were so happy when we saw the pee. *LOL* His pee was needed to do some test. Doctor said nothing serious, asked us to go home and monitor further.

Reached home 10am+. In-laws were shocked to see us walking through the main door coz they thought we were still sleeping in the room. They were not very pleased that we brought their beloved grandson to the hospital without informing them! Even blamed my BIL coz he knew and didn't inform. Sigh... Fever went up and down... and I took extra one day leave on Monday. Actually Kenneth and I are also sick and we suspected that Kenneth passed the germs to Kayden coz he insisted sleeping with Kayden in Hong Kong so that I could have more rest.

Anyway, my in-laws were so kan cheong about Kayden that they made me super panicky also. To me, it's normal for a kid to have fever, to fall sick. But to them, they made a super big fuss over it. *sigh* Thank god Kayden is well and crawling around now! If not, I don't know what other things my in-laws will be doing to my little baby. *LOL*
I will try to blog about the Hong Kong trip soon... very busy with work again... *sian* Wonder when can I retired and just stay at home and shake legs. *LOL*
