We have an EXTRA CAR... and so I.... (Part 1)

We went to pick up our rented car just now because we are going for our trip this Saturday (we will be back on Tuesday). Kenneth said I must be very happy coz with this extra car (he will drive the rented car to work), I can go out SHOPPING! Oh well, I am half hearted about going out. Not because I need to pack and carry a heavy diaper bag but rather... it's due to the following reasons:

1) Weather is very HOT! It's Summer now and the temperature the whole day long is like 40 plus degree celsius. It's worse inside the car! Just like being in an oven.

2) It's heavy! And once again, no, it's not the diaper bag. It's Baby K + Car Seat!! I need to carry both of them (with Baby K inside the car seat) and walk to the car. I stay on the 2nd floor (with no lift) and our allocated sheltered parking lot is god damn far!! It's like at another block. Bad arrangement from the management office!

3) Baby K drank only 10.5oz of milk from morning 5.45am till now!! Fed him at 9am+ when he woke up, he vomitted everything out!! Fed him rice cereals and he kept fussing, so in the end, didn't eat any. Fed him again at 12pm+ before we went out, he refused to drink again. Came back at 2pm, Kenneth fed him, he vomitted again! But I managed to make him drink 4oz. He is not sick (we took his temperature). He is still his cheerful and playful self. Not sure what's wrong. He's napping now, so I will update again when he wakes up. See whether I want to go out or not because need to go few places to run errands (maybe shop a bit also, haha).

Pinky watching over Baby K while he naps away...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are back! Baby K woke up at 4pm and off we go! First stop, Best Buy. Kenneth asked me to go there to do an exchange for some electronic stuff that we bought and apparently they do not have the same model in stock anymore, so, I did a return and got a refund.
Next stop, Old Navy! Why not since it is just beside Best Buy. This was also what Kenneth told me when he asked me to go Best Buy alone and I was unwilling. But upon hearing the "good deal", I agreed whole-heartedly!As usual, bought some clothing for Baby K. I realised, I bought a lot of tops but only few pieces of bottoms!! Hmm... think it's time to stock up on bottoms. And I got for myself, a white cardigan, a white flower print shorts and a grey flower print skirt. I so love Old Navy bottoms!! They fit me nicely. My waist is not proportionate to my butt... ya, I have a big butt! Ha ha...
oppss... this is XS cap... but a bit too BIG for BaBy K's small head.. hahaa...
This one is better. But didn't buy coz I am not someone who wears cap. I find it HOT wearing cap. Ha ha...
I am so thankful that Baby K did not fuss one bit when we were out (but he farted a lot of times which made me panic, coz I thought he POO POO). He was a very good boy, sitting inside the car seat quietly. Even when I was driving and he was behind alone, he was very quiet, to the extent that I thought what happened to him. Ha ha... Upon reaching home, gave him his usual 6oz of milk and he finished all of them! After which, fed him his Pea Puree (which he so love). And thank god, he only POO after his meal (and it's a lot), lucky never poo when we were outside (Jeslyn will know how troublesome it is!!).
Tomorrow will be another shopping day for Baby K and I. Need to go Wal-Mart to get some stuff for our trip. After that, play by ear... if time permits, maybe we will make a trip to Target, help Ms Tan find her stuff and also check out some stuff that Yanwen said Target has in their store.
Check back on our "adventure" tomorrow! Hopefully Baby K will be like today, don't give me headache.
Random Update
I once told my colleague, everyday, we look forward to lunch. After lunch, we look forward to going home. Every month, we look forward to pay day. And every year, we look forward to BONUS (which are in May + December)! But of course, every morning, I look forward to going to work. I used to prefer weekdays than weekends. This is how much I love my work, my office and my colleagues!!
This used to be my "playground"! So miss it...
The little corner...
Overcrowded... so I shifted them up to the extra cylinder... (that's why when I left the company, I had tonnes of things to pack)
Now that I am not working, time seems to past very fast too!! In a blink of eye, it's night time again. My everyday life now evolves around my little baby....
Refusing to nap... kept flipping over..
A happy baby waiting for his rice cereal. The redness around his mouth is the result of... look at the next picture.
Yes... result from eating his hands!! But luckily, the redness will go off on its own after a while.
Put him on the playmat and most of the times, this is what happens!! His legs like to kick the "rod" of the mat then the whole thing will collapse. Sometimes, he will be wrapped up like a springroll!!
Although my everyday life these days are more or less the same, although my life is not as exciting as it used to be, although my "pay" + "bonus" is not as good as compared to when I was working (dropped drastically!!!), but I so love my life now. I love to see Baby K learning new things everyday. I love to see him smiling to me every morning when he wakes up. I am glad I made the decision to come. Many a times, we make the wrong choice in life. But I must say, coming here is the best decision I ever made so far in my life. =)
The first time
The first time Kenneth picked up the camera out of his own free will and took a picture.....
I was busy washing the dishes after our lunch when he came to me with a camera and showed me the above picture he took. I was very surprise! This is the first time he picked up the camera and snapped a shot and it was to take a picture of our Baby K!! (He normally won't touch the camera unless I ask him so) We were having lunch and Baby K was looking at us in this position all the time from the bedroom. I must say it is a good shot! Well done, Daddy!
Yes Sir?
His right hand (yes, he is still in the "White Glove Gang") was at this position for the longest time during bedtime. I find it rather amusing. Ha ha.. and the left hand nicely tuck underneath his head... as if he's relaxing...
Just Another Boring Sunday...
Today is just another Sunday that we did routine stuff. Woke up at 9am+ and planned to leave the house early to go to the supermarket. Who knows, Baby K took a nap. In the end, we left the house at 12pm+. Head straight to Lee Lee Oriental Market and had our lunch at the Chinese Restaurant, Hoe Kee.
After we had our lunch, it was time for Baby K to have his. Daddy lazy to carry him out from the car seat so feeding him straight off from it.
Happily drinking his milk.
Reached home, unpack all the stuff and Kenneth went out again, leaving Baby and I alone at home. This also means, no swimming for Kayden later in the evening. (We are suppose to go swimming every Sunday evening!)
A very happy baby when he is at home and a very quiet and grouchy one whenever we go out.
Look at all those saliva!!! OMG!!
Then the rashes surface!! I hope he will stop playing with his saliva SOON! And don't "wash" his face with them!!
Do you think he looks like me? One thing for sure, he has my face shape. =)
Baby K was laughing non stop in front of the camera, as if knowing I was taking pictures of us.
He looks like a big boy in this pictures. Growing up fast!
Lastly, I love you, my little Baby!
Happy 5 Month Old!
Kayden turns 5 months old today! Till date, these are his updates.
  • Very good with flipping on left side. Can do multiple flips at one go.
  • Know how to fake cry when no one is with him. Upon seeing me, he will give me a very ke lian look, as though asking me "why do you leave me alone? I am bored."
  • He can grasp things with his hands and able to hold and play with the toy.
  • Loves to giggle and will scream when he's excited.
  • Starting to recognise people and if strangers talk a bit more to him, he will either show the want-to-cry-look or CRY OUT LOUD.
  • Loves all the solid he had tried so far. Sweet Potato, Rice Cereal, Apple Puree and Pea Puree. Strangely, he prefers the Pea Puree over the Apple one. Weird baby.
  • Will smile to Daddy when Daddy comes back from work. Will get excited and start kicking his legs and flanging his arms.
  • Able to sit quite upright on the bumbo chair.
  • Neck muscle is very strong now.
I think that's about all.
The baby with jumbo "ears" sucking on his soothie while Daddy and Mummy were having their late lunch at a Thai restaurant.
To celebrate his 5 month old, we went to Arrowhead Mall after lunch. Actually it was me who wanted to shop. It was a fruitful trip. At least didn't go back home empty handed. Looking forward to Baby K's 6 month old!!
Passion Reader?
Just before taking down the clothing from the rack so that I could fold them, I passed a book to Kayden. I told him, "Be a good boy and read on your own. Mummy not free to play with you now. I will read with you later."
Happily holding his book
Lo and behold, few minutes later, when I turned to check on him... I saw this....
He managed to flip open the pages and was looking at the pictures!
Listening attentively and looking at the pictures with great interest as I read those simple words out
Baby K loves to read?
His favourite book is still "Hello Bee, Hello Me!"
The pages are "lighter" and easier for his little hands to flip through. Colours + Pictures are great too! I highly recommend this book! Can be used for chewing during teething time! Multi-purpose book. Value for money!
Hello Baby K!
Hopefully his passion for reading will still be the same as he gets older. I pray hard that he is one of those kids who will sit down quietly with a book and do some quiet reading. Because I know and understand that boys tend to be more active (and rowdy). Hopefully when we go back to Singapore, he will learn the good behaviour from Shannon and Russell.
My Love for Online... Shopping!
Ever since I face the reality that I am going back to Singapore soon, I have been shopping non-stop... online! Took a risk and ordered some bras from Victoria Secret the other day. I need to wear different size for different brands. The order that came was a perfect fit! And within this month alone, I already received 3 "shipments" from VS. Even the UPS delivery guy knows me and stop asking for my last name whenever I receive the package. More to come!
The purchase that came today. Blouses, Bras, Panties, Swim wear, etc.
They sell apparel too! Comfy and nice. I love to shop online, at my own comfort. Don't need to step out of the house. Don't need to withstand the hot sun. Don't need to squeeze with people and queue up for changing room. Upon receiving, I can always return and get a refund if I don't like what I see! Most of the times, returns are either FREE or at a minimum cost.
I also love to buy stuff from M.A.C. (no, not Apple MAC but Cosmestics MAC)! Love their range of cosmestics. Amazon.com is also my love. Ordered lots of Kayden's stuff from there. Wanted to order a bag from Gucci.com the other day and Kayden started fussing, so thought could order after settling him down... who knows, just that few hours difference, the bag is OOS!!! *sad*
Oh well, I guess this is the PRICE that Kenneth needs to pay (now) for disallowing me to continue my SAHM "job" upon touching down home ground. These are all the necessities that I need for re-joining the human rat race! (ok, I am just giving myself an excuse to buy more)
Just Another Afternoon while Daddy was @ Work
Being a SAHM is a very fulfilling job, I think even more so than any other jobs in the world. I will be "fired" from this post once we reach home. "Boss" said I need to get a real job. He is unable to substain my lifestyle if I remain a SAHM in Singapore. Ha ha... My dear, I am not so high maintenance! On the other hand, I am glad that I have a longer "maternity leave", as compared to others. A total of 7 months plus. Though the monthly "pay" is not much, but I really treasure and is still treasuring the time I have with Baby K.
Here are some photos of Kayden taken today. It's just another him-and-me weekday afternoon. I know I will miss all these ALONE time with him when I go back to Singapore.
Girls wear headband, well, Kayden also! Ha ha...
His new look, spiky hair!
The daily "beauty" regimen
Sitting on the bumbo chair, watching TV
Another form of chilling out using the boppy pillow. Someone thought he is a girl while we went out one day, he, in this outfit. Ha... I WISH!
Kayden: "Stop taking my picture. I POO!! Clean me NOW!!!" Indeed, while feeding him his pea puree, I smelled it. Hurriedly fed him and carried him. Too late. Stain his shorts and the chair... and so the story goes on...
White Glove Gang!
Kayden has eczema on the right side of his face. Condition is sometimes good, sometimes bad. It turns WORSE when he scratches his face before falling asleep, during sleep and before waking up. And resulting in bleeding. Having no choice, I make him wear mitten on his right hand when he sleeps. Didn't want to let him wear before coz he tends to suck the mittens and I find it disgusting. Well, seems like I can't have the best of both world.
And so, he becomes leader of the "White Glove Gang"
I told Kenneth, he looks funny just wearing one mitten. He said, let him wear on both hands then. Ha ha... Well, at least with only one mitten on, Kayden still has 5 fingers not being covered and able to explore things and also bring his feet to his mouth! Hopefully his eczema will go away when we return to Singapore.
Taking his beauty late morning nap which I need to lie down beside him first because despite being sleepy, he will want to show off his new skill -- flipping!
Shake Your Bum Bum
When Kayden was younger, he used to shake his head left right before falling asleep on his own. Now that he is older (but still a baby), the pattern change. Kenneth did not notice this change until I highlighted it to him.
In the video, take a close look at 24 and 36seconds. He will lift both his hands up, shift the legs up and down, and thus shaking his bum bum and his head (a bit). I think that it looks pretty amusing as though he is dancing (but lying back down).
Eat Your Greens!
Kayden had his first taste of GREENS today. I gave him peas puree. I was very afraid that he will not like the taste because even I cannot stand the smell while preparing it. I tasted a bit and..... yucks!!! So raw smell!!
He spat out the greeny stuff during the first few spoons. But after that, he accepted it with open mouths. Ha ha. Whenever the spoon was placed near his mouth, he would open it and gobbled down the stuff. And no, he wasn't hungry because prior to this, I had already given him his milk.
I am glad he loves it and hopefully, he won't be like his Daddy, who doesn't like to eat green leafy veggies or beans stuff. More GREENS to come, my little baby.
He looks so fair and eyes so big in this picture!
A hungry baby is a cranky baby!
Happily went to nap after his milk. This is his new favourite sleeping posture! Last night, we found him sleeping face down, still breathing. And we hurriedly turn him over. Dangerous you know, Baby!
Enjoying his greens!
Messy messy at the end of the feed
Wiping his mouth at the end of the yummy greeny meal
A Good Buy!!
We went to BX on Saturday as Kenneth needed to have a haircut. As usual, while he was away for the cut, Kayden and I shop around in BX. And like always, I will wonder into the Baby's section and left with a few pieces of clothing for Kayden.
This time, I wondered into the shoe department and this lovely pair of Nike Running Shoes caught my attention! It's a bit hard for me to buy shoes here as I always have a hard time looking for my size. Surprisingly, out of the 2 pairs left, one of them is my size!!
The Grey and Pink Nike Running Shoes which I got at a very good price! It's actually the baby pink that I love. It goes well with the grey. A touch of feminine with a dash of toughness.
I hesistated about buying because... running is not one of my hobby. Furthermore, out of the 365 days in a year, I don't normally have the need to wear sneakers. Asked Kenneth's opinion and as usual, he will say "buy loh". Anyway in the end, I went home with this happy purchase, telling myself that I will wear it for our up-coming trips.
When we reached home, I asked Kenneth to help me keep the shoes in the shoe closet. He got a shock when he opened the closet! He was shock to see the number of shoes I have inside and many of them are still brand new, not worn before! ha ha... He had no idea that I had bought so many shoes throughout our stay here. Oh well, beside diamonds, shoes (as well as bags) are also a girl's bestfriend! And most of the times, it's just needs vs wants.
I am glad I made this purchase because something real good and happy happened at the end of the day. A happy Daddy, a happy Mummy and a happy Baby!
Happy Birthday, Sweetie!
Today is 20th July. It's the birthday of one of my bestie, Eileen. I wasn't around to celebrate it with her for the past 2 years. I think the most memorable celebration was the one she had in 2005, where she, together with Diana + Phin, missed the flight to Hong Kong and the 3 of us (Mag, Kenneth and I) waited 10+ hours before they reached.
I hope she was sober during her birthday celebration over the weekend (and also sober if we go clubbing when I am back). Eileen, I wish you happiness and stay pretty.
The 6 of us in Hong Kong. Let's do this again soon!
Happy Birthday Babe!
