Here we are... proud parents of 2 little boys. =) We have indeed come a long long long way. Went through a lot of happiness, anger, tears, quarrels and "hardships". Kenneth is a very loving husband and a doting father. Though he is very "block" (never know how to give surprises), but he is understanding and most importantly, care for the family. =) We are very blessed to have these 2 boys in our life now. Both were not planned and so they are a gift from God. =)
Happy 5th year anniversary, my dear hubby!! There will be more multiple of "5" years anniversary in time to come. =)

Kayden has finally recover and went back to the IFC this morning!! Luckily he did not cry when we went in. I thought that after his absence for 1 week, he will cry and protest when we go over. =) But sad to say, he is going over to PlayGroup starting this Thursday. Hope he won't go through the "crying-non-stop-when-I-leave" cycle again. Tomorrow is half day for them and on Wednesday, because it is Teacher's Day, so the centre is close. Gotta pass my camera to the teachers tomorrow so that they can take pictures with Kayden. =)

Following Kayden's recovery, Kenneth is diagnose with HFMD!!! Sigh... He went to see doctor last Friday and was given MC. Wonder when can he return back to work because the blisters seems to be more and more. =S especially on the soles... really very terrible... all the tiny little red spots... He is so afraid that he will pass the virus to Kaleb and so he is sleeping in the living room till he recovers. I am all alone with the 2 boys at night and thank god, Kayden is always so tired and will fall asleep on his own very fast. As for Kaleb, as usual, he needs to play his "orchestra" for a while before falling asleep. LOL. Really hope this "orchestra" will stop soon!!

During the past 1 week, Kenneth was solely looking after Kayden and I will go to my mum's house with Kaleb almost everyday (for fear that the baby will get the virus). During that week, I only get to see Kayden for like 10 minutes (maximum). =( So upset and miss him. I was quite surprise to learn that he knows a lot more things when I interacted with him on Saturday. He can understand a lot more better now and know most parts of his body!! All thanks to his Daddy who spent the one week coaching him all these (of course, not forgetting scolding and spanking Kayden during the one week too. LOL.) The most funny thing is, when we were eating "man tou" that day, I told him, "This is man tou." And he straight away point to his head!! He thought I was asking him where is his "tou". LOL. His action is very funny.

Not sure why but Kayden seems to be very choosy about his food these days. Is it due to the fact that he is teething? He has another 4 big molar teeth coming out!! Gosh... don't know why his teeth like to come out all at one shot!! He refuses to eat rice, porridge, fish, etc when he's at home. But over at IFC, he will eat everything!! maybe coz he sees other kiddos eating also... sigh... What to prepare for his meals has become a very big headache for us!! =(

Will update more on Kayden going over to the PlayGroup soon. I hope he can fit into the uniform because although it is the smallest size (XS), but I think it will look HUGE on him!! LOL.

Father's Day 2010!!

Brought Kayden to Suntec for his haircut on Saturday. Took a queue number and pushed him around. He started making noise when we saw this "school bus". Put him in and he happily went off to school. *LOL*

Testing out the steering wheel.

Smiling happily to his Daddy when we inserted money in and the bus started moving. So afraid that he will fall off. *LOL*
Kenneth standing by... holding on to Kayden.
Distracted..

Kenneth celebrated his 2nd Father's Day on Sunday! We woke up early (not by choice coz Kayden woke us all up at 7am) and left for brunch at Dempsey Hill. Though Kenneth is not a big fan of western breakfast, but we still had it coz I was craving for them. =D Seems more like celebrating for me. *LOL*

Father and son! Kayden with his new hairstyle.... short like his Daddy!
A very happy Daddy with a very greedy son. It was indeed FATHER'S DAY coz when I posed and wanted to take a shot with Kayden, he refused. And yet when posing with Kenneth, he looked at the camera so readily.
Eating his favourite Gerber biscuit. Asked him to feed Daddy, he very readily put it inside Kenneth's mouth. But when asked him to feed me, he popped the biscuit into Kenneth's mouth again!!
Self-feed....
The very yummy breakfast we had! After which, we had Ben and Jerry's Strawberry Ice-cream! Kayden enjoyed the food a lot too!
As usual, after food... went to my Mum's place. =D Someone asked me, since I already went to my mum's place last week (during weekday), why am I still going on weekend? *LOL* I guess if possible, I would want to go back there EVERYDAY!! Coz to me, that is my HOME! *smile* That is where I can feel the "warmth" and "love". Not that Kenneth can't provide me these but a mother's love is always different. =D

Celebrating Kenneth's Birthday

We celebrated Kenneth's birthday yesterday. He had birthday off whereas I "sacrifice" and took one of my pro-rated annual leave. =p This year is his 1st time celebrating as a daddy. Last year, we were at Vegas and Baby K was still in my tum tum. But this year, he joined in the celebration!!

Early morning, we made our way to Changi Airport Terminal 3 after sending BIL to work. Purpose to go so far... is just to let Kenneth practises his driving skills (not nice to bother the "driver" every weekend when I need to go out with Baby K). Reached there at 9am+ and had our breakfast at Crystal Jade. Noodles were yummy and ordered some dim sum too. Baby K had his share of food too. =)

After eating, Kenneth sent me to Orchard coz I needed to get my nails done. Kenneth went back home alone with Baby K. Throughout the journey, Baby K was snoozing all the way.... Did French Manicure + Pedicure. *shiok* Guess I am slowly back to those days before I left Singapore. =D By the time I was done, it was like 4hrs plus later. Raining very heavily so I took a cab home. We wanted to have part 2 of our celebration (go out to have dinner) but it was raining still and we scare Baby K might catch a cold so we postpone the dinner to this weekend. =)

Still haven't bought birthday present for Kenneth coz not sure what he wants or needs. Basically, seems like... he doesn't need or want anything. *LOL* And coz of the rain, I didn't buy a birthday cake for him too!! Maybe should buy one this weekend.. belated celebration... =)

Early morning... waiting for the car at the void deck. Misty picture not coz it was misty... but coz the camera lens was misty!!! *LOL*
A shot with Daddy while waiting for food to be served.
Crying because didn't want to sit on the high chair... or... maybe coz the waitress was helping him and he was having stranger anxiety.
Still crying even after we carried him out and strapped him to the car seat.
Can see that his brows are still a bit red (from crying).
Happy Baby! But not looking at the camera.
This is better... =)
Enjoying his noodles....
Happy Family... actually it was very stinko coz Baby K POO POO!!
Very happy after the change of diaper!
I must say that the family room at Terminal 3 is fanstastic!!! If only all the family rooms everywhere is like this!!

Like Father, Like Son

The small one refused to eat porridge today, the big one is not much better.

Cooked lunch (and at the same time need to entertain the small one, feed him, change him, etc) and "served" it to him while he ate it in front of the television, bad habit! He ate a bit and told me he was full. I am VERY ANGRY!!! Because... I so xin ku cooked everything, he ate so little. To me, not finishing ALL means that he doesn't like what I cook, not appreciative of my effort. ARGH!!!!! I already gave him very little rice!! I know, if I cook sambal prawns or fried stuff or any other chilli stuff, he will definitely finish up everything. But hey... we cannot have all these unhealthy stuff all the times!! Count yourself lucky that I never STEAM anything (beside eggs) for you to eat.

Maybe he should lead the life as a single for few weeks then he will realise how wonderful I am. *LOL* Hot piping food awaiting him whenever he reaches home from work or when he wakes up. Look at those singles... they still need to cook despite being very tired or hungry!!!

I feel much better after venting out my anger here. *LOL* Anyway, we are going home soon... days of my cooking will be over... he can go back to his local Singapore food for all that I care. *LOL*

These are the first 3 dishes we cooked together when we reached. Also the FIRST and ONLY time he helped out in the kitchen. -.-"

The first 2 dishes I cooked all by myself. (background: I couldn't cook for nuts before coming over. Didn't even know how to use the rice cooker!!)

2nd attempt cooking alone...

Oh well, I think at least what I am cooking these days, look more appealing than when I first started. But still, I am not a good cook lah... hahahaa...

Block Block Block... Don't let you watch!

Kenneth likes to carry Baby K on his lap and watch television together. Reason is simple, he doesn't approve of putting Baby K on the playmat and if he puts Baby K in the crib or in the bouncer, the little boy will start making noise. *LOL* And this was what Kenneth did when Baby K was happily watching the television programme.

These are the silly things that Kenneth does at home. Sometimes, he will carry Baby K and play hide-and-seek with me. -.-" And most of the times, Baby K will give away their hiding place. *LOL* Oh well, these are just the simple joy I get from my boring life everyday.

"Hmmm"

When we were in Vegas one night, Baby K attempted to flip while I was changing his diaper before bedtime. Kenneth was hanging around, looking at us. Then he came to the bed and made the sound "hmmm".. a very stern one. Baby K paused and looked at him. Before long, he started his "stunt" again. Kenneth "hmmm" again. He paused again and smiled to Kenneth. Then he attempted to flip once again. During the 3rd "hmmm"... Baby K burst out crying!! *LOL* He actually knows that Kenneth is angry and that "hmmm" is an angry tone. Kenneth immediately carried him and tried to calm him down, but to no avail. Passed him to me and he stopped crying. Kenneth "hmmm" again (trying out his luck here) and Baby K burst out again! Oh my... Took me quite some time to calm him down.. -.-" Told Kenneth don't frighten Baby K at night especially when we were at this unfamiliar place.

After being "hmmm" at for 3 times. Cried for some time. Real cry out loud type. My sister said Baby K resembles Kenneth in this picture. I agree. In some ways, he does resembles his daddy too. They both have the stern looks.

Yesterday afternoon, I was trying to trim Baby K's nails when he started to kick kick kick. Again, Kenneth did the "hmmm" and during the 3rd time, Baby K cried out loud again!! Ha ha... He just loves to disturb him (Wendy, are you reading this?? I guess they are the SAME!). After Baby K calm down, Kenneth asked me to try to "hmmm" him... I tried, but Baby K just smiled to me. *LOL* It's either that my "hmmm" is not loud (or deep) enough or that, he is simply not afraid of me because afterall, I spend so many hours looking after him everyday (coming to 6 months already)!

A Good Wife, Am I?

Yesterday, after returning the rented car and on our way home, while I was day dreaming sitting at the passenger seat behind, Kenneth suddenly said, "ni hen hao hor." I was puzzled and asked him WHY?
He said, recalling the times when he went to play mahjong and I offer to go out to buy dinner for them. And at that time, I was very heavily pregnant. They (his mahjong kakis) were so afraid that Baby K will be out early (because the gynae said will be out any time after 37th weeks but apparently this did not happen), so they had mahjong session very frequent, even on Sunday afternoons. Everytime when they played, I would drive out to buy take-aways for them so that they could eat while playing. I guess only a mahjong addict will understand why would people eat in such a manner, wouldn't it cause indigestion? *LOL*

Oh well, I am good in other ways too... (blowing my own trumpet now)
  • Whenever he comes home in the wee hours of the day after work, if he is hungry, I will wake up to cook maggi mee for him. I don't think many wives will do this. Imagine having to wake up at 4am+, when everyone is so soundly asleep, just to cook and after which, I will have difficulty getting back to sleep.

  • I will wake up together with him in the morning to prepare breakfast for him, even if it means waking up at 3am. The only times when I did not do it was when I was sick... and I mean, real sick type (which I think only happened once). He needs me to be up even to make a cup of coffee... and I am talking about 3-in-1 type.

  • Even if I am busy preparing lunch and at the same time need to feed Baby K, and when he wakes up and needs his coffee, I will make it for him. Sometimes I feel, I am just like a maid. *LOL* But of course, many a times, he will wake up to feed Baby K even when he is seriously in need of sleep.

  • I let him go to do his favourite past time on Sunday afternoons when it is supposingly to be family time.

  • I put up with his "nonsense" all the times. Stuff like "save the earth"... that's why the house is very messy.

  • When we go for trips, I am in charge of EVERYTHING, which includes booking of accomodation, planning the itinerary, and even things like looking at the GPS and telling him when we need to turn, etc. He has only one task... and that is, being the driver. He doesn't trust my driving skills and doesn't want to put his life in my hands.

  • During confinement period, I not only have to cook for myself, I also cook other stuff for him to eat because he was sick of eating the same stuff (confinement food) everyday. I don't know how I did it (standing there and cooking) despite the very painful wounds (mine was vaginal delivery).

I guess not many wives are like me. Not many that I know will wake up every morning and prepare breakfast. Before I conceived, I told him, when I am pregnant next time, I won't wake up to do all these. After I conceived, I told him, when the baby is out, I won't be doing all these in the mornings. When the baby is out, I am still doing the same things in the mornings!! There is no change at all. And maybe that's why he always let me shop, with no questions ask, because I contribute a lot too. Ok, maybe I am just trying to look for an excuse for all my implusive buys.

Sometimes I feel that, he is like a big kid, the other baby of mine. I also need to be at the door and kiss him goodbye everyday when he goes to work. Isn't this the same like sending the kids off to school? Just that children board the school bus but he drives to work. *LOL*

So, in order to reward me for the "hard work", he is going to buy me another diamond ring when we get back to Singapore. He doesn't trust the jeweller here. Another reason for this diamond ring is because... I am fat(ter) now and the existing one, can barely be squeezed into my finger. *LOL*

I guess, this is how we complement each other.

We have an EXTRA CAR... and so I... (Part 3)

We went to collect the rented car just now coz we are going for another road trip this Saturday (poor Baby K needs to be in the car seat for hours again). This trip is going to be a 5D4N. It should be our last road trip (but not the last trip of USA) before going home. But Kenneth said, if he is able to pack up all our stuff using all the weekends, he will have 3 days of leave left. He puts aside these 3 days just to pack the house. (I offer to pack everything but he turn down my kind offer. He wants to be the supervisor for packing. Oh well, I shall just let him do EVERYTHING. His wish is my command.) So, if he can pack the house without using his annual leave (which I doubt so), we will be going for another road trip (which I don't know where else he wants to go). Hmm... if he really never use these 3 days, I think I will tell him to just stay home. Going for road trip is not cheap. We need to rent car, petrol, accomodation, food, etc. Whole trip will cost more than USD1k. And this coming trip, we are spending more. I shall blog about the trip when we are back.

Alright, so Kenneth asked me to go to the car rental office to pick up the car because he said his uniform is dirty, cannot let Chris (the one and person inside the office) sees him in it. -.-" Gave me 3 choices of cars, Red Chevy Impala (which we took for our last trip), Green Chevy Malibu and Red Toyota Camry. Of course I chose Toyota!

Kenneth passed me our car and he drove the Toyota to work. I can't drive other car except our own because I have very bad judgement. Ha ha... And so, I went to Walmart with Baby K. Helped Kenneth buy blind spot mirrors, which he needs for driving. So, all the cars we ever rented will be returned with a pair of blind spot mirrors. Picked up few other things then we went home. Not really in the mood to shop because not feeling very well. Pray that I won't fall sick.

Taken before we step out of the house to pick up the car. If you notice, he wasn't looking at the camera. He was looking at Kenneth, who just came out from shower and just standing there, doing nothing. Not sure why Baby K was so happy seeing him.
Oh ya, the red thing on his head is my top. Ha ha... Silly things I do to my son.
