My Long Weekend and Random Pics of Baby K

The long weekend was over in a wink of eye! Went to get "beauty treatment" with Ms Tan on Friday. Did spa manicure + pedicure. *shiok* Btw, happy belated birthday! Guess you are having fun in India now!! *LOL*

Didn't do much stuff with Baby K as he was down with very very mild fever, which is due to the 3 upper teeth sprouting out at the same time. Actually wanted to bring him to Gymboree class on Saturday but coz of his fever, we postpone the trip till next weekend. Baby K has very protective grand parents, I wouldn't know how to answer to them if the fever shoots up after going out. *LOL* Met up with besties at night and chill out at Haji Lane area.

Sunday, went to visit Chen Feng and her family. Saw Baby Belden for the first time! He is only 2.5 mths old now. So cute! After that, went to Mum's place but no one was home. *LOL* Mum was away at Penang and Dad was not in. Hang around for a while, had our dinner there then we went back home.

This is my weekend... Hope yours is more interesting! *LOL*

Below are some pictures of our bundle of joy!

Happy to be standing and always love to hit whatever is in front with his hands.
See... smile till can't see eyes!

One morning... when he just woke up and had his milk. He tends to wake up at 6am... coz this is the time I wake up everyday!
" This is the way I sleep at night, I sleep at night, I sleep at night. This is the way I sleep at night, with my butt high in the air!" *LOL* (gosh, it actually sounds nice)
His crib is finally up! But he's not sleeping in it YET!
Not sure why he's so happy... But he sure is having a bad hair day! *LOL*
Glowing complexion. *LOL*
He was fussing and crying coz he wanted me to carry him.
The high chair we bought from States is finally up! The lazy Daddy finally set it... but... set up wrongly!! Need to re-do...
Enjoying his snack....
That Sunday when we went Mum's place but no one was in. *LOL* Distracted by the neighbour who walked pass...
Staring at the standing fan...

p/s: not sure why I can't view my c-box. I think my company restricted it. =(

9 mths old

I nearly forgot... Baby K is 9 months old today!!! Cheeezzz... I think I am really swamp by stupid work... can even forgot such important date. Sigh.. How I miss those days when I was a SAHM. Too bad, don't think I will get to enjoy such life again as Kenneth doesn't want to go back to States coz he claims there will be a loss of income. Sigh... But sometimes, there are just some things (like being there for Baby K's every "first" moment) that money cannot buy. =(

Anyway, these are his progress....

  • Have 3 teeth. 2 below and 1 on top. For the top one, the other 门牙(left) is coming out soon also. And the tooth beside the right 门牙 is also showing some whitish sign.
  • Able to pull himself to standing position and will cruise around his crib or whenever holding on to things. Still not very good in crawling... think he will walk 1st then learn crawling. *LOL*
  • Very good appetite and able to finish one bowl of porridge for lunch + dinner. As for milk, depends on his mood.
  • Still very greedy. Expects us to feed him whatever we are eating whenever we dine out. He is able to eat almost everything that we are eating (beside peanuts, honey, etc).
  • Suddenly develop this stranger anxiety, even cried when babies crawled towards him.
  • Always whine when see me come back after work and will pretend to cry so as to make me carry him.
  • Always refuse to let others carry him when he is in my arms (feel very happy that he still knows I am the Mummy)
  • Always change into sitting position when he hears people coming into the room while lying down. This applies also when he is very sleepy and about to drift off to lala land.

These are all that I can remember... *LOL* Will update more when any comes into my mind and I will update his pictures soon! Stay tune!!

Busy Work Week....

Work has been madness-ly crazy these few days because out of the 4 managers, 3 of them took urgent leave / childcare leave!!!!! One needs to go back to Malaysia for the granny-in-law's wake, the next one needs to stay at home coz the baby having high fever and the last one, 2nd son having HFM Disease while the eldest son is being hospitalised!!!! And all of them will only be back next week!

So... with them gone, means left only me to cover the 3 of them... This also means I am very very very busy.. and my boss' face is black like 包青天!!

I wanted to go in and talk to him yesterday but was warned that the "weather" in the room was dark and gloomy! My colleague went in before me and told me that it was "thunder storm". *LOL* So, I very quietly retreated back to my seat... Who knows, he came out to look for me... But luckily, he still smile to me... *phew* Guess he should be grateful that I am around. *LOL*

So looking forward to the long weekend ahead... Looking forward to the time I can spend with my little baby and friends!

Random Update

The 4 of us plus one of the executive went into Boss' room yesterday. LP told him that she wants to clear her 6 days of childcare leave in December. Boss is not very happy about it. He claimed that this type of leave should be taken when we need to bring our babies for vaccinations, and asked us not to abuse it. -.-" And I thought government is very PRO FAMILY??????? Then he further said that LP and my section seems to be very quiet after office hours... eh... already after office hours... how "noisy" he wants us to be? He expects us to work OT... like the other section... sigh.... *ROAR* He asked if we can go for overseas assignment... well, what can I say? He knows that Baby K is well taken care of by my in-laws. Hopefully he will send me to some "decent" country. Sigh....

Boss asked me and CL to walk around the office to introduce ourself to colleagues from other departments. He said we need to let our presence known so that work will be easier for us in future. Sigh... Am I being hire to be PR? Maybe I am in the wrong department. *LOL* I am still thinking of how to get this done... Walk around and distribute candy bars to key personnels who we need to liaise with most of the times? *clueless*

Bumped into Lena and Duwei on the train the other day. Lena is one of the wife I met when I was in AZ. Very bubbly and cheerful. She said her hubby going to States again but to another place. As for Duwei, he is an old friend... AC's friend, to be exact. MRT seems to be the place for me to bump into old friends. *LOL*

Walked into Sun Plaza after work yesterday and burnt a big hole in my pocket. =p Bought some dresses and tops and signed up a "trim eyebrow" package. *LOL* Like this, cost me SGD300+!!! Asked Kenneth if he wants to sponsor my spending, he said he will fully reimburse me!! *grin* Like this, why still need me to work since he can substain my spending... hahaha....

Celebrating Ms Aw's birthday this weekend and the next weekend, will be celebrating Ms Tan's birthday! Both besties birthday are in November... same as Kenneth's!!

Kenneth said Baby K is able to hold on to the side of the bed and walk a few steps. I am so sad... I miss witnessing Baby K's first step. Sigh... And when I am home, he never cruise around to show me. He barely knows how to crawl and now is trying to master the skill of cruising. *LOL* Maybe he will start walking before he even can crawl. *LOL*

Jon and Cassi's Big Day

After meeting all the mummies and babies on Saturday, we attended Jonathan and Cassi's wedding on Sunday! Cassi is my Secondary Classmate. We have been the best of friends since then. We reached Pan Pacific at 7.30pm... ahem... we were not late. *LOL* Kenneth actually missed the hotel car park and we went one big round before reaching again. He was so worried that we would be late. *LOL*

This is Baby K's first time attending wedding dinner. He was fast asleep when we reached. Nothing new as he seems to love falling asleep in the car, maybe because of the motion. He woke up when we went into the ballroom. I must say he was very well behave throughout our stay. But he is definitely one very greedy baby. Of all the dishes, seems like nothing suits him. *LOL* Mini Yam Rings were served and I fed him that. Then came the Roast Chicken, I also gave him some. We left early because it was already 10.30pm and baby needs to sleep. It was only towards the end, he started to fuss because he was sleepy. He slept all the way and even when we reached home, he did not wake up.

The wedding was a very beautiful one. =) Everything was beautiful... The bride is GORGEOUS!!! I am so happy to see this best friend of mine walking down the red carpet. =) Cassi, wishing you a blissful marriage with Jon. =)

We went to Mum's place before going to the dinner since Mum stays near town (so miss my old house - good location!) Mum asked me to take a shot of her and Baby K in front of her "prospering" "orange tree". *LOL*
The tree... I don't recall that it's ever so tall...

Baby K always like to scratch his ear these days... coz one of his upper tooth is coming out!!
Been a long long time since Kenneth was in pants + shirt... more than 2 years... *LOL*
My happy family...
Cassi marched in ... accompanied by her eldest brother... =) Beautiful bride...
Very happy to be seated on the high chair.. kept using his hands and bang the table... even when the couples were taking their vows... -.-"

Gathering for the Feb 09 Babies

We had a very busy and fulfilling weekend. =) Brought Baby K to the Feb 09 Babies gathering at Sengkang. As Kenneth needs to work, my personal "driver" sent us there and then came back few hours later to fetch us. =D Thank you, Michael!

This is our first time meeting all the babies and mummies. I was very excited but not so for Baby K. *LOL* He was fast asleep when we were on the way there in the car. Upon reaching, despite the noise (many babies crying and shouting), he continued his beauty sleep. Mummy Tracy commented that Baby K really can sleep! *LOL* I hurriedly ate my lunch but only managed to finish half the nasi lemak and he woke up.

Carried Baby K up from the car seat and put him down on the play mat with the other babies. Most of the babies already know how to crawl and if they came too close to him, he will start crying. And when the babies snatched his toys, he will also start crying. Sigh... So Baby K spent most of the times sitting on my lap.

Baby K did not take part in any of the "competition".. like Longest Standing Baby (think he will cry coz need to stand side by side with the other babies) or the Fastest Crawling Baby (he still can't crawl too well, head will tend to kiss the floor), etc. We just sat by the side and watched. It was indeed a very interesting gathering.

Met lots of mummies and chatted with them. Only remember some of their names. Heee hee.. Coz really too many for me to absorb. Left after few hours and sent Mummy Adeline and Baby Renee home. =) Mummy Adeline is such a young mummy... have 2 kids somemore! *envy* Hope to join more of such gathering next time. =)

Baby K warming up with 2 of his friends... =)
Tu-tu mouth....

Kayden and Aaden... =) *Baby K having red brows again coz was fussing before that*
Bite bite bite...
The most stylo baby... Han!

Dream vs Reality

Been back from States for around 1.5 months. Many asked if I have adjusted back to the life here. Honestly, I am still in the midst of adjusting. *LOL* Maybe I will never ever get used to the life here... So miss those days in AZ.

No one ever "warn" me that coming back to Singapore also means having to face reality. Looking back, days in AZ seems to be like a dream. Spending money in AZ is just like opening the tap and letting the water flow. *LOL* Now that we are back, I just can't bear to spend the way we used to do so. I think generally things in SG are more expensive, the only thing which is cheaper is FOOD! I so miss the SHOPPING in States!! Having said this, I am still shopping... opps... Sorry hubby, I know I promise I will not shop at least for a while when I come back... I just can't resist the temptation. *LOL*
Don't think we will be going back to States again for as long as Kenneth is still with the Force. Sigh... Though loss of income when we were there but I think I am happier coz I can with Baby K 24/7. Hmm.. hopefully when Baby K grows up, he will choose to be a US citizen then at least, I can migrate over when I retire. *LOL*
My advice to friends who are still in States, please enjoy your days there, coming back is a whole lot different. But of course, there are some positive things... like family and friends are here! Easier to "access". *LOL*

1 month "work-ni-versary"

It's coming to 1 month ever since I started working after my 2 years plus of break. Got my first pay and it comprises of salary from October till November 09. Been such a long long long time ever since I saw such amount being credited into my bank account. Hee hee.... Think I should give a treat to Kenneth and my Brother-in-law coz they had been paying every time when we go out to eat. *LOL*

Work has been okie... Colleagues are FINE! So blessed to have my girls with me. Though I am with them for only 1 month, but they had already given me lots of advices with regards to human relations. *LOL* The best thing is, they are only 2 months old with the company! Good bye to my once peaceful life... Hello to the POLITICAL WORLD!
Lunch time is a torture! The nearest food court is like 15-20 mins walking distance away and we have to "climb up the slope". So, most of the times we just pack our own lunch and heat it up at the miserable pantry. FIL is very kind, he will pack my lunch for me, even prepare bread for me to bring to office to eat as breakfast. *LOL* But I just heard, the Old Chang Kee mobile van is coming to our office during lunch next week! We are soooo overjoy! Really looking forward to it...
Didn't manage to take any pictures of my green green office surrounding. Shall try to take some soon and post it up... and after that, some might know where is my office... *LOL*

Celebrating Kenneth's Birthday

We celebrated Kenneth's birthday yesterday. He had birthday off whereas I "sacrifice" and took one of my pro-rated annual leave. =p This year is his 1st time celebrating as a daddy. Last year, we were at Vegas and Baby K was still in my tum tum. But this year, he joined in the celebration!!

Early morning, we made our way to Changi Airport Terminal 3 after sending BIL to work. Purpose to go so far... is just to let Kenneth practises his driving skills (not nice to bother the "driver" every weekend when I need to go out with Baby K). Reached there at 9am+ and had our breakfast at Crystal Jade. Noodles were yummy and ordered some dim sum too. Baby K had his share of food too. =)

After eating, Kenneth sent me to Orchard coz I needed to get my nails done. Kenneth went back home alone with Baby K. Throughout the journey, Baby K was snoozing all the way.... Did French Manicure + Pedicure. *shiok* Guess I am slowly back to those days before I left Singapore. =D By the time I was done, it was like 4hrs plus later. Raining very heavily so I took a cab home. We wanted to have part 2 of our celebration (go out to have dinner) but it was raining still and we scare Baby K might catch a cold so we postpone the dinner to this weekend. =)

Still haven't bought birthday present for Kenneth coz not sure what he wants or needs. Basically, seems like... he doesn't need or want anything. *LOL* And coz of the rain, I didn't buy a birthday cake for him too!! Maybe should buy one this weekend.. belated celebration... =)

Early morning... waiting for the car at the void deck. Misty picture not coz it was misty... but coz the camera lens was misty!!! *LOL*
A shot with Daddy while waiting for food to be served.
Crying because didn't want to sit on the high chair... or... maybe coz the waitress was helping him and he was having stranger anxiety.
Still crying even after we carried him out and strapped him to the car seat.
Can see that his brows are still a bit red (from crying).
Happy Baby! But not looking at the camera.
This is better... =)
Enjoying his noodles....
Happy Family... actually it was very stinko coz Baby K POO POO!!
Very happy after the change of diaper!
I must say that the family room at Terminal 3 is fanstastic!!! If only all the family rooms everywhere is like this!!

Baby Amelia's Full Month Party

We attended Baby Amelia's full month party at Fairmont Hotel yesterday. It was a grand event. Baby Amelia's mummy, Phyllis is my Primary School classmate and after which, we attended the same Secondary School. Come to think of it, our friendship stretched as far as 23 years back!! (ya, old already... *LOL*)

Baby Amelia has lots and lots of hair! Very petite and sweet... Too bad didn't snap a picture of her as she was sleeping the time we reached till we left. Thanks Phyllis for inviting us to the party. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously. =)

On the way to the party... Inside Kenneth's car... So, since Kennth was not the driver, who was the one driving?? *LOL* (We actually have a personal "driver"... =p)

Happily being strapped to the high chair....

A shot with me... But he was distracted...
Another shot... this one seems to be better...

Smiling shyly....

He ate a lot of CAKES!!

Decided to suck his fingers when I stopped feeding him....

Daddy carrying...
Smiling to the people at the next table....
Ha ha....
After the party, we decided to take the MRT to my mum's place. This is the 1st time we took the train with Baby K. He didn't get to enjoy the "scenery" because... he was fast asleep even before we step foot onto the train! My little baby must be very very tired... =p

KPIs?

I was told to come up with my own KPIs. What a joke!!! My section is a newly formed one. And now, they are not sure what I should be handling and asked me to work out something. Ha ha... Ok loh.. My KPI will be... Sit in the garden everyday, sip my tea and enjoy the fresh air. Good enough? =p

Clubbing with Besties

Met up with my group of besties last weekend and off we went to St. James! Took a cab down together with Diana and as usual, Eileen was late!! She was 1 hour late!! Still the same as before. *LOL* Catch up with Diana and as soon as Eileen arrived, we went over to Dragonfly first. Music was not that nice and we adjourned to this smoking room, just above Boiler Room.

The smoking room is prefect (minus out the smoke)! Not crowded at all and it oversees the stage at Boiler Room. We settled down at a cosy corner and had a couple of drinks. Elizabeth and my very good old old bestest friend, An Chuan joined us too!

We ended the night at 2am+ coz I wasn't feeling well. (Sorry guys) I can foresee that we will have more of this type of "outing" in future! Oh my, life really started again for me now that I am back in Singapore!!! Loving my beautiful life now... =)

A shot with besties... An Chuan is always the thorn amongst the roses... *LOL*

Visiting Mr & Mrs Rum

Every weekend, I will bring Baby K to my mum's place. We normally leave the house at 7-8am! Oh ya, I know it's very early... *LOL* So, throughout the 7 days in a week, I need to wake up very early for 6 days in a row...

This weekend, since we are going to town (my mum stays near town), I decided to bring Baby K to visit Mr Rum's family! I used to tutor Mr Rum's boys and I got a shock when I saw them... both are so big and tall now! Oh my, children really do grow up fast!

Reaching out for me... want me to carry...
Baby K with grandmum before we leave the house

Big head!!
Mrs Rum loves Baby K! Baby K was having a bit of stranger anxiety at first but he was okie after a while....
