Random update

We just had a long long break. Thanks to Vesak Day being on a Friday! Didn't do much on Friday, went to Parkway Parade and had our brunch. Walked a bit... damn tired... hurriedly went home. Our bedroom TV suddenly blackout on Friday morning. Someone pressed the doorbell and when Kayden and I came back into the room, the TV was pitch black. -.-" After much tries to "revive" it, Kenneth pronounced it "death". *LOL* That TV had been with him for 10 over years. Money well spent!!

Oh... and Kayden's car seat is finally up!! Talking about being a procastinator, I think if Kenneth is rank 2nd, no one dare to say they are 1st. *LOL* Luckily Kayden didn't fuss much when we put him inside. We must adopt the "we-are-still-in-USA" mentality... meaning, we can't carry him out as it is against the law if toddlers are caught without a car seat. *LOL* Anyway, he's very comfy sitting inside as it's quite tall and he has a full view of what's happening on the road. (Ya, he's quite a kpo.)

Went to buy the TV on Sunday. Shop is just opposite Mum's place - Audio House. Didn't buy it on Saturday as Kenneth just sent me there and then went off for his "hobby". Oh well, I don't mind going to my mum's place EVERYDAY! *LOL* Also bought a USB card reader!! Finally can upload my pictures!! So happy...
Tomorrow will be a big day for Kayden and us. He is going to Infant Care!! I will be with him for few hours for the first 3 days. My worry is Friday (after my 3 days with him)... wonder how he will react when I leave him there and just leave for work. *sigh* Praying hard that he will LOVES the teachers and won't fuss or cry when I leave. =( If only the care given at home is a good one. *sigh* If only I need not work. *sigh*
Will try to load photos soon... forgot to bring the USB card reader home and Mum will be passing it to me later. =D Memory is really getting worse... =X

Random update

Big boss just announced that there will be changes (re-org of the dept) coming up soon in the next 1-2 months. Hopefully with this change, my "sliding" days will be over soon... *LOL*

Took my Labour Day off-in-lieu yesterday and brought Kayden to Mum's place. He is still having the runs and brought him to see doctor. He managed to take a 2hrs+ nap which he will never on weekends coz just too many "distractions" around... Luckily he's not a milk "addict" coz he is to go on a "milk strike". Luckily he's able to go to lala land at night even without a bottle before sleep. =) I always know he's a fuss-free kid. He was such an easy baby when we were in States. Going to bed at 7pm and never waking up for his night feeds starting from 4th month. Can play on his own while I prepared meals in the kitchen. That's why I don't understand why someone will say it's very difficult to look after him. *LOL*
Life seems to change so much with this little kiddo around. Can't remember when was the last time I went to the cinema. Can't remember when was the last time I read a book. Can't remember when was the last time I did stuff that I used to do before he was born. Never know my life will change so much after having a kiddo. But I guess, those "carefree" days are over... at least I can proudly say I do enjoy those days when I was "kiddo-less". *LOL* Now, just hoping that he will grow up healthily and steadily. =)
p/s: still trying to search for my camera cable...

Gastric Flu....

Our little Kayden is having Gastric Flu!! He had been having the runs for few times since Saturday evening and on Sunday, brought him to see the doctor and was told that he's having gastric flu (at such small age?). Stupid doctor never give us any medicine to stop the runs... only gave 2 bottles of fever medicine, some powder for dehydration use and another bottle of medicine just in case he has colic or tummy pain.
Other than the runs and fever, Kayden is still very active. Crawling and cruising around at home.
Last night, he had the runs for 3 times and was whining non stop. =( Didn't sleep well throughout the night (I mean, ME!!). Though Kenneth is on child sick leave today but seems like he is VERY TIRED and Kayden only wants me to carry. Sigh...

Seems like Kayden can't adapt well to Singapore life. *LOL* He never had all these "problems" when we were in States. Maybe air quality is better there? Maybe coz he never has the chance to snack? Or maybe I am the one who misses life out of Singapore, even if it means going to some 3rd world country. *LOL*
Oh well, don't think I will ever have the chance to be a SAHM. Really must thank RSAF for giving me the chance to be one for 7months plus when we were in States. *LOL* Now, just hope that the runs will stop as Kayden will be going to Infant Care Centre next Tuesday!! So looking forward to it. =)

Random...

Thursday afternoon in the office... bored... Everyone has left for the Southern Ridge Walk... Leaving me behind with Class 95. I am being excused coz that will be a long long walk... heard it's 1.5 hrs to... and another 1.5 hrs back... *shrug* I am so glad to be in office, enjoying the cool air blowing out from my little fan. *LOL*

Been rather busy these past few days (be it at home or in office) and I am still trying to look for my camera cable. I suspect Kayden took it and hid it somewhere. =( Time to get a new camera? But still, I need to transfer those photos in the camera to my notebook...

Kayden is confirm going to Infant Care on 1 June. Already applied 3 days of leave (1-3 June) and boss approved it without any question. *phew* Hope he will get used to the teacher and luckily, teacher is a young and pretty girl. *LOL*
I realise, nothing much for me to update. *LOL* Life is rather boring... it's the same routine stuff everyday. Sigh... Time to go for holidays? *LOL* Maybe in my dream.... =)

Random

Went to Airport Crystal Jade (think it's the Shanghai Xiao Long Bao??) last Saturday. Mother-in-law came along with us. They don't have the habit of celebrating Mother's Day... she just happened to be free and so went to eat with us. *LOL* We stay in the very North and been going to the very East for the past few weekends. I guess this is the way to make time pass faster. *LOL* We had very late lunch which was a good thing coz we were told that earlier on, the restaurant was very packed!! I must say that the service was excellent!! Very attentive... and one of the managers kept playing peek-a-boo with Kayden which sent him laughing and laughing non stop!!

On Sunday, the actual Mother's Day day... Mum was not free. *LOL* She went for her own celebration. Anyway, we were not free too. Went to Ion Orchard Taste Paradise for late lunch with Sis, Pierre and Trini. Food was fab (though price was a bit steep) and company was great! Kayden was not very used to Pierre at first (maybe coz of his moustache?) and burst out crying after staring at him for quite some time. *LOL* And we thought coz he was making funny faces at him. Shall post pictures in the next entry. And so, this was how I spent my 2nd Mother's Day!! Simple and yet enjoyable... =)
Been searching for Infant Care Centre for Kayden and luckily managed to find one that's near home. Didn't know that it will be so tough, no vacancy everywhere!! Will be sending him there every morning when I go to work and then picking him up after work. This also means I can't go out after work in future! *LOL* So girls, please set aside your weekends for me... If nothing goes wrong, Kayden will be sent there starting from 1 June 2010! Wanted to let him go in next week but apparently most of the staff are on leave and they do not have the manpower... oh well... I should be happy that they have a "slot" for me. =) Will be going down to the centre this Saturday to take a look and have a better understanding. =) Guess this is better than leaving him at home, although the fees is quite high (even after subsidiary)... I am so happy that we are moving towards this direction. I finally have a say in my son's affair... *LOL* All thanks to the "All-Hell-Break-Loose-coz-of-$30" incident... which doesn't involve me coz remember, I am the very good DIL who always just swallow back what I want to say at home. *LOL* That's why I am always "choking". Ha ha...

An Evening at the Playground

Reached home and brought Kayden to the playground for his "intensive training" yesterday evening. We had such fun!!

MIL leading Kayden as he strolled along....
Kayden's playmate at the playground, Ting Ting who is 2 months younger but looks much much bigger! *LOL*
The toddlers exchanging greetings... and so coincidently, Kayden is also in PINK!
Giving a pat to Kayden to encourage him to walk more.
And he walked and walked...
Giving flying kisses to whoever he saw....
Weeee... coming down the slide which he enjoys sooo much...
The other slide...
BIL's turn to lead Kayden to walk...
Tired liao... so sat down and played with the leaves... Didn't dare to crawl around at first coz of the rough surface... but after some time, when he got used to it, he started to crawl around... like mad!!

Sweat sweat sweat....
Chubby Ting Ting....
Laughing happily when he saw BIL carrying Ting Ting... Not sure what's so happy about it. *LOL*
Continue to play with whatever he can find....

Really sweat a lot...
Both kiddos getting ready to come down the slide... Ting Ting didn't come down coz the helper has no strength to support her. *LOL*

Amused with the funny face that Ting Ting is making....
Getting ready to wave good bye when he saw some cars leaving...
And he waved....
Trying to sayang Ting Ting... which made her very scare. First time somebody else's baby is scare of mine... *LOL* Normally it's Kayden who will make noise when other babies come near him.

We stayed at the playground for a good 45 minutes and all of us were sweating... Kayden was so tired that he fell asleep within minutes and when I left the house at 7am this morning, he was still ZzZZzz-ing away! *LOL* Way to go, my boy!

Intensive Training!

Out of the blue, Kayden is suddenly given "intensive" walking training. *LOL* MIL brought Kayden to the playground yesterday and made him walk around (by leading him). And surprisingly, he walked! When we are home, he just loves to crawl around... And he was downstairs for a good 2 hours!! So tired when he came back that after bathe and milk, he slept for 3 hours+!! And during evening, it was FIL's turn to bring him down but they were only there for 30 minutes coz according to him, there were mosquitoes and he was afraid that they will attack Kayden. Oh well, as if mossies can't fly up to our place... -.-"

All I did the day before was... told my MIL that they need to bring Kayden down for walks in the morning coz the morning air is fresh and good for him (I don't know whether true or not, I just want them to bring him out). *LOL*
They never like to bring him down coz of mossies. -.-" And Kayden will spent all the times sitting on the bed, playing with toys and watching tv. (poor baby!!) No freedom at all.... Only gets all the freedom once a week at my mum's place where we will just let him crawl wherever he wants and very often, he will crawl pass 2 fans to go into the kitchen. I think my FIL will faint if he sees this "dangerous act". *LOL* I enjoy freedom and don't wish to see Kayden being "tied down" like this.
Hopefully the going downstairs routine will continue... till the day he goes Childcare... =) Next up, teach him how to hold his own milk bottle and stop being lazy!! *LOL*

Old Little Kayden

Yesterday, Cara passed me an article from 我报, about how to teach babies when they are learning talking. Another colleague, Amril, joined in our conversation.

Amril: Very simple one.... just let babies listen to music and they will eventually start talking. This is what the rich people are doing.

Me: Oh ya... my boy is listening to music and loves to watch a particular drama serial.

Amril: That's good! What kind of music is he attracted to?

Me: He loves the song from the show "爱". He will pause whatever he is doing and stare at the screen and when the show starts, he will be watching also. And he also loves "黄金年华". Oh well, he just loves to watch all these "oldies" stuff.

Amril: *speechless*

Well, this is what happen when the care-takers are some elderly folks (although not all are like these). I have already told them to minimize television time for Kayden and put him on the floor to crawl more often. Oh ya, and also bring him down for walks in the mornings. These are the things that he had been missing out for MONTHS since we are back!! This also explains why he is not walking yet! Coz he is just getting to enjoy the crawling part which should had started months back!!
Putting him on the floor, my FIL is afraid that he will slip and kiss the floor. Bringing him down for walks, scare he will kena mosquito bites. -.-" I can't wait for the day when he turns 18 months old, so that I can put him in Childcare and he won't be so sheltered. I do not wish to see my son growing up and being a 温室里的小花.

Random Update

It was a boring weekend. Kenneth went to work on Sunday and so I went to Mum's place. He is having his off day TODAY on a Monday... but so what? I have to come to work!!! He will come and pick me up after my work.
Went to Courts @ Tampines on Saturday, trying to see what furniture / electrical appliances we can get for our nest next year. =) After that, drove over to Giant. Madness. So many people. And the aisles are so narrow. Think we spent a longer time looking for a parking slot then walking around inside. *LOL*
Kayden on "food strike" yesterday. Refusing to take his milk and ate his lunch / dinner. Mum gave him some ABC soup in the evening and following which, he poo-ed. A lot!! Maybe he's feeling very full inside, and that's why no appetite. Fell asleep in the car on our way home and continued sleeping upon reaching home. Didn't bathe. Didn't change. Didn't drink his milk. Woke up this morning at 6am+ and I carried him out to my in-laws and like always, he starts crying during the "handing over" time. Darling, Mummy also wish she can stay home with you 24/7. Hopefully the day will come soon. =)

Want to go on a holiday so badly. Been thinking of where we can go since there is a long weekend coming up end of this month. Just this morning, my colleague came and inform me she will be going on leave end June / beginning July coz she's going to EUROPE!!! Sigh... Guess I need to wait few more years before I can step my foot there... I miss Switzerland!!

Think there is no where I can go... Singapore is sooooo boring!! Maybe I should just stay happy and stay put in our little sunny island...

*Mood not very good coz having Monday-Blues*
