Humble Little Nest

After so many months of hunting... after seeing 18 number of flats... we finally gotten our own sweet little nest!! =) It was quite a smooth one coz we saw the unit on 14 Nov, told the agent our offer for COV and agent came back with a positive answer on 18 Nov!! We didn't expect to get the unit coz the seller was asking for sky high COV... the offer we made wasn't even half of what she was asking. LOL....

Rush through to get the bank loan, etc... only to know that we need to wait for at least another 2 months before we can go for the 1st appointment at HDB. Reason being, the seller haven't transfer the title deed to herself!! Flat belong to her mum who passed away in April... and according to her lawyer, it is perfectly fine for her to go ahead to market the unit and there is no need to transfer the title deed!! Kenneth was pretty upset over the whole issue and actually wanted to take legal action against the seller... but me, the peace lover, managed to calm him down. The seller gave a discount of $2k for the COV.... If we had sue her, guess our COV will be waived off. LOL. But oh well, I don't think she will want this to happen too...

And so, we can look forward to shifting in around April 2011!!! Already gotten our contractor and works can be started after the 1st appointment!! Can't wait... =)

Update

Both brothers drinking milk at the same time when we went to my Mum's place few weeks back... Hopefully very soon, Kaleb will be able to hold his own milk bottle... =) And really praying hard, he will STOP THE NIGHT FEEDINGS!!! He woke up every 3 hours last night to drink!! Kayden also decided to join in the fun... and right now, I am like a walking zombie in the office... -.-"
The "deed" that Kayden did before drinking milk... I was busy making the milk in the kitchen and only realised that Kaleb's head had got "pattern" when I was feeding him. Kayden drew on him!! LOL... Don't dare to let Kenneth know.... Mum hurriedly wiped those ink stains away... Poor Di Di...

Accident - 19 Nov 2010

While on our way home on 19 Nov, we met with a car accident. Travelling along Upper Thomson Road near Tagore Road, it is a down slope straight road. Due to unknown reasons, the car infront suddenly stop!! We were travelling at fast speed but managed to come to a halt.... but for those behind us... it was so unfortunate that they couldn't break in time. 3 cars, 1 van and 1 lorry is involved in the accident. I was badly shaken... and Kayden's car seat "flew" at the back seat (coz it wasn't strap down). I was so glad that the boys were not in the car....

We were the 2nd car in line. We got banged from behind but merely kissed the car infront. I took a cab back first coz need to fetch the boys. Luckily Kenneth was home and we went to fetch them together. I had very bad headache and neck ache after which. X-ray was done and thank goodness everything was intact. =D

Bundles of Joy

Our bundles of joy.... =) Seeing them at the end of the day just brighten up my day... =) All the rushing arounds (morning sending them to the centres and evening fetching them back home) are just so worth it... Though I don't have much personal / social life now, but seeing them growing up just bring joy into my life. =)

Update on Kayden

At 20 months old, Kayden is finally speaking "sense". LOL. Some of the words that he can say now are:

1) Mummie, he will call me whenever he needs help, even if it means I am not there physically. Teachers say he will start calling me at around 5pm+. And mind you, he will go on and on with mummie mummie mummie... LOL...

2) Pa Pa, much as Kenneth wishes that he calls him Daddy, Kayden likes to call him Pa Pa. LOL. Especially after hearing the "客人来看爸爸", he will go Pa Pa at the end of the song. LOL. When he sees Kenneth's photo, he will go Pa Pa also.

3) Di Di, think this is the 1st word that comes out from his mouth. When teachers ask him where is di di? He will go "shhhh"... with one finger at the mouth and after that, signal the "sleeping" hand sign. LOL. Even when at home, he will run towards the bed and whisper di di... and then go "shhh"... but actually in the first place, he is the one making the most noise and we are so afraid that Kaleb will wakes up. LOL.

4) Milk Milk

5) Ball Ball

6) Car Car

7) Star Star

8) Po Po, calling my mum

9) Nai Nai, calling his mum

10) He pronounces banana as nana

11) Pronounces giraffe as raffe

12) Bird bird

13) No more, say this especially after drinking his milk

14) 叔叔, which he will say sh sh... LOL

15) His first chinese word - 放屁. LOL.

16) Teacher

I think that's about all.....

He is able to put on his shoes and take them off himself, depending on his mood. He super loves to watch Barney these days so this is the only program that we are watching too when he is awake. And we are always watching the same piece of DVD. LOL.

At this age now, he is super hyper active. ok, I will be VERY WORRIED if he is not. He will climb up the sofa, up the bed and just yesterday, he climbed into the umbrella stroller himself!! He loves to play with his large collection of toy cars at home and when at my mum's place, he loves to play with the pen. He even drew on poor Kaleb's head the other day. LOL.

This little baby of mine is growing up very fast... How I wish he will always remain at this stage... sweet and innocent. =) And always needing me to "protect" him. LOL. If only we can stop the time... =)

Update on Kaleb

Our little Kaleb is 4.5 months old. He is learning how to flip and it is just so cute to see him sleeping side way. :) he is very chatty and smiley and also a bit grumpy. Lol. He can grumble and complaint non stop in a 45 mins car ride from mum's place to ours. Lol. Wonder if he was thirsty. We brought him for his jab earlier this month and he was 6kg+ and 62cm tall. Guess his development is consider not bad as he is afterall a premmie. :) Teachers love to play with him Coz he is ever so generous with his smiles. They become worry if he is ever cranky. Lol. But things are not the same when I bring him home in the evening. :( the "orchestra" will start shortly after we reach home and he will be super duper cranky. Hope things will get better soon. Changed me?

Attended a meeting last week (on behalf of my boss) and someone inside mentioned that it was not my level to make certain decision. Came back to office and told fellow colleagues. They were very very very angry with this remarks. All throughout lunch, this was the topic. I just kept quiet and never commented anything. Finally, one of them couldn't take it anymore and asked me, why am I always so cool and calm? They have never seen me blow my top before. LOL. They are always and constantly angry over stuff which I don't understand. LOL. Maybe my "processor" is slower and "dusty" so all the "impacts" will never reach me. LOL.
I am seated beside a lady who gets agitated very easily. Those in front of us find it very amusing. We are just like North and South poles. LOL. And that is why we can get along very well. With all the negative thoughts that she has, I always view them positively. LOL. We just sort of "complement" each other.

Eh... I don't know what's there to be so angry about in the first place. LOL. Whatever people want to say, I just let them be. I can't control them. They said that if ever one day I scold someone (during working hours), that person must be damn "sway". LOL. I guess I am angry only when it comes to family matter. LOL. Like how my kids are being treated... etc...

Come to think of it, this wasn't ME last time. Before I went to States, I WAS someone who blow up at the slightest thing at work. I guess the 2 years at Phoenix, I really 面壁思过 and changed into a totally different person. I guess things will be very different if I am still the OLD me now. LOL.
Is this change better or worse? People might perceive me as a timid and gutless person... always kena "push around"... oh well, what's there to fight? I just want a normal 9-5 job, a job that can let me go home on time so that I can spend time with my lovely kids. Climbing up the coporate ladder is not really my cup of tea.
Did I mention to anyone before that I actually inspire to be a housewife (after having Kayden)? LOL.

Update

Been very busy in the office and no time to blog at all!! After work? Very busy at home with the little ones and not forgetting that my bedtime is somewhere before 9pm. LOL. Yes, I know I sleep very early... but I need to wake up in the middle of the night and I have to be up by 6am everyday!!

Everyday is a mad rush for me... from the moment I open my eyes... until I close them. Every morning, rush to send the boys to the care centre and after which, I will need to rush to work coz I start at 8am. In the office, rush around again coz boss changes my port folio, everything is URGENT now. Sigh... Don't wanna be the bottle neck and delay any work. Some said this change is good for my career advancement but I am not looking forward to climbing up the ladder... I just want a stable job. Knock off on the dot and rush back to fetch them coz I don't want Kayden to be the last one to leave the place. LOL. Reach home, rush around to feed them... only get to slow down my breathing after the boys go to bed... and that is the time I go for my meeting with Zhou Gong too. LOL.
Update on our little baby...
Very very smiley baby... and a very talkative one too. LOL. Growing up well and still waking up once in the middle of the night for his feed. Sigh...

And the 2 brothers... =)

Kayden has been a very good kor kor... sharing all his food, toys, etc with Kaleb. =) He loves his Di-Di and will always go Di-Di, Di-Di and point at Kaleb the moment he wakes up. And upon seeing Kaleb is still sleeping, he will go "shhhhhh....." telling all of us to keep quiet... LOL.

Love both my little boys... =) And many commented that Kayden looks like Daddy and Kaleb looks like Mummy. LOL.

The Final Jab

We brought Kayden for his 18 month jab yesterday. Picked him up from the Childcare at 2.30pm and it was his napping time!! Teacher had to carry him out and thank god he is not those type who will cry and kick up a fuss if someone wakes him up when he's sleeping. =) Gave him some snacks - a piece of cake, and he finished everything! He must be very very hungry from all those naps. LOL.

The whole process at the polyclinic took such a long time because it was his first time there for jab and they need to input all the jab records into the system. But luckily we reached there pretty early and I think those who made the appoinment before us were late and so, we waited less than 2 minutes and it was our turn to go in. =)

Kayden is on the smaller side and his height and weight percentile is under the 3% thingy. The nurse said it is alright and he is growing up well. Reason given, he might be like his Daddy... small bone...
This entry was actually done on 23 Oct 2010!! LOL. Saved and forgot to publish... =p

21 October 2010

zoom zoom zoom....

Time pass so fast... 16 weeks zoomed by just like this and I will be back in my garden office next Tuesday! One of my very good colleague revealed that boss will be changing my port folio... I will be handling a lot of internal users when I go back. Sigh... Exposure is good for me but I am not sure if I can handle all the demands... On the other hand, happy that I need not handle my old port folio (which is a bit boring). Don't know if I should be happy or sad about it.

This weekend will be my last one before returning back to office. 112 days (maternity leave) is ending just like this. =(

Come to think of it, I have been back in Singapore for 1 year already. Married for 5 years. First 2 years of marriage, I was in heaven coz I still stayed with my parents and I had all the freedom in the world. =) Next 2 years of marriage, I dropped to human earth coz we shifted to States and I became a "housewife", learning how to cook, etc. The last 1 year of my life, I was in hell. LOL. Well, guess I need not say more why I am "suffering".

Anyway, I am just so glad that Kaleb, like Kayden, is also a smiley baby. I was so afraid that he will "face black black" all the times coz I wasn't very happy when he was in my tum tum. I was full of anger almost everyday. LOL. They say that how we feel and behave during pregnancy will more or less affect the unborn baby. I am glad that I have a bunch of nice colleagues who will listen to my "woes" and laugh the day away with me in office. =) Thanks, girls. Oh, I am also with the company for 1 year already. Means increment is coming. =) not forgetting the year end bonus too. =D

15 Oct 2010 - A Date to Remember

Firstly, on this very day, it was my sister's birthday. Hereby wishing her a belated happy birthday, although I know she is not a fan of my blog. LOL. Seems like those around me don't really read my blog, maybe the things I blog about bores them. LOL.

Kaleb's first day at the Infant Care Centre also happened on this very day. Left him with the teacher in the morning. When I left at 9am, he was still sleeping soundly inside the car seat. I actually stayed at the centre for 1 hour plus, hoping that he would wake up so that I could kiss him good bye. LOL. Went to fetch him in the evening and teachers said he is an easy baby!! (Just like Kayden??) He didn't fuss much and practically he was sleeping the whole day!!! During the times when he was awake, he would be busy smiling to them when they talked to him. =) I am so glad that he didn't give trouble to them.

Gave Kayden packet apple juice after his dinner. This is his occasional treat. LOL. As he was sipping from the straw, he suddenly said his first word...... APPLE!! Coz he saw lots of apples on the packet! Kenneth and I were so happy. Our 1st bundle of joy is finally saying something that makes sense. LOL. He kept saying apple apple apple... non stop. And the 2 of us were grinning from ear to ear, super excited for him. =) The very next day when he woke up, he said TEACHER!! and it was non stop... gosh... I always thought his 1st word will be Daddy or Mummy. LOL. But never mind, at least he is finally talking now. =)

Yesterday in the car, on the way home from childcare, he was reading (or rather holding) a book. He saw strawberry and he went bear-ri bear-ri... he saw banana and he went na-na... na-na.. =) Teacher in school commented that Kayden likes to follow the smartest and guai-est boy in his class. Whatever this boy does, he will do the same. *phew* how glad we are that he didn't choose to follow the naughty ones. LOL.

Side track a bit... Kayden is still very sticky to me! Sigh... and Kenneth doesn't really know how to handle Kaleb... or rather, the baby only wants me at night! Gosh... I thought that by carrying Kaleb and sitting on the mattress beside Kayden, our #1 will guai guai sleep on his own. How wrong I am!! He was so jealous that he kept pushing Kaleb away and not forgetting screaming and screaming. Once Kaleb is back on the bed, Kayden will be rolling around the mattress, never mind that I am seated far away from him. =S Even in the middle of the night, he will wake up and come to the bed to look for me!! Baby, you need to grow up coz Didi needs me more. Mummy still loves you and you will always be our 1st bundle of joy. =)

Kiddy Rides @ Changi Airport

As I mentioned previously, we go to Changi Airport almost every weekend. Last last weekend, went there again and upon entering the building from the carpark, saw this advertisement that says there are cute kiddy rides at Carpark 3A, at B2. So, after lunch which was horrible coz both boys started throwing tantrum and cried non stop, leaving us very embarrassed at TCC. =S Damn scary experience. Anyway, after our very long lunch, we went in search of this kiddy rides.

Found it!! Daddy went on the ride with Kayden. We chose this big balloon giraffe for Kayden. LOL. Coz it looks magnificent!
The older kids driving at the race track.
Here they come.....
Daddy's hand served as the "seat belt"...
Here they come again....
Kayden's eyes were somewhere else...
My turn to "drive" with Kayden. At first I didn't want to "drive" him around coz I am a safety driver, didn't know how to drive single-handedly... So, Daddy made Kayden stand in between my laps so that I could drive with 2 hands.... =)
Love this pic... he looks so "glued" to me.. which he is very "sticky" to me these days....

After the giraffe ride, we made our way to the exit but this little boy ran back to the rides and climbed into the "racing car".

Initially we didn't want to let him sit but when we know there is seat belt attached, we were relieved coz this meant he won't climb out by himself. =) It's a remote control car.
Looking out for traffic before going out to the "track"...
Daddy following behind coz remote controller needs to be within certain range...
The car is actually going at quite a fast speed... =) our little boy driving with one hand... like his Daddy... LOL.
Posing for me...
Enjoying the "scenery"
End of ride...

Kayden enjoyed himself tremendously on the car ride... we will definitely return to the place again... wanted to let him go again that day but they only have one remote control car and there are others waiting in the queue... so... we will be back again. =)

3 months old checkup

Kaleb is 3 months old today! Brought him to his PD @ TMC for the Pneumococcal jab. Had initially wanted to bring him to Polyclinic for this jab coz thinking of saving some $$ but need to make appointment and I don't want to delay this jab. Maybe will do so (make the appointment with Polyclinic) for his 6-in-1 jab next month. Went to PD at 10.30am and reached back home at 11.30am. =) Very fast coz Mum stays near TMC and also coz the queue at the clinic wasn't very long.

At 3 months old, Kaleb weighs 5.57kg and stands at 59cm. PD said his weight gain is very good and everything is fine. At 3 months old, Kaleb is able to respond to us (by smiling and coo-ing) whenever we talk to him. Guess he will talk faster than kor kor coz Kayden never coo-ed last time. LOL. Kaleb is still drinking every 2.5-3 hours during day time and during night time, sometimes he will wake up for feeds only after 6 hours!! Hopefully he will be able to sleep through the night soon.

Kaleb, happy 3 months old and Daddy, Mummy and Kor Kor are happy to have you as part of the family. We love you. =)

Sick sick sick

Teacher called and said Kayden was cranky from morning all the way till noon and also puked twice. Said if I can, bring him home early. But I can't Coz daddy is pretty sick at home and needed to rest. In the end, went to fetch him at 5pm. He also bit his lips while climbing up the chair. Sigh... A very active toddler! But luckily the bitten part wasn't obvious when we came back else they would be fussing over it.

How nice if we are staying on our own now. Then daddy can rest in the room while I look after the boys alone outside. =( hope we can shift out soon ... As far as possible. Lol.

Going back to work in another 20 days time. Mixed feeling... In order to feel better, I think about the year end bonus. Lol. Heard will ne a good one this year. =D

Hope my 2 Ks will recover soon and praying hard that baby K will be strong and won't catch the bug... Will be back soon to blog... Realized that have lots oh photos yet to blog about. =) BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. Post Anniversary Celebration

We celebrated our post anniversary at this Chinese Restaurant @ SAFRA Mount Faber. Food was fabulous and we took few hours to finish our lunch!! I guess it was also due to the fact that food was serve slow... despite that we were the only customer for the 1st hour!!

He's always so ready for the camera when taking picture with Daddy...
When it comes to me, he tend to look away... =(

Feeding the baby while waiting for food to be served...
Didn't want to drink... just want to smile and "talk" to Daddy...
Still smiling when Daddy wiped away the milk stain...
Smiling so happily!
Kena force to drink again. LOL.
Happy face at the end of the feed...
Food that we ordered... Dou Miao, Peking Duck and Mayo Prawn. Not forgetting the 2 very small portion of fried rice that cost a bomb! We laughed when we saw the miserable portion.
We finished everything which is very surprising. LOL. It was a lot of food that we ate during that meal.
Eating with his fingers... Can't be bothered to stop him... at the end of the lunch, he was playing with the rice!! Taking everything out and putting on the tray. =S
Still picking...
Finally eating with the spoon! Is Kayden a left-handed?
A family shot....
Another shot... Kaleb seems to be in great misery. LOL.
After lunch, we actually wanted to go ION Orchard to get my pressie... but... but... but... we lost our way. LOL. And ended up at Suntec City. ha ha....

Kayden getting excited over the toy cars... wanted to get them and bring home!
Kenneth is always so tiring carrying Kayden everywhere whenever we go out. So... we found this ingenious way to "ferry" Kayden around! He quite like it... and thank god he is small size. LOL. Else I think the stroller will just give way.
Kaleb sleeping soundly... and Kayden happily sitting on the stroller as we made our way for tea break.
No choice, had to carry him so that he can drink his milk. They don't sell fresh milk at Old Town Cafe. =(
He was so tired at the end of our outing... and we went home pretty early too... but when we reached home, he simply refused to nap (which made Daddy very angry).
Overall, we had great fun that day! I hope the boys enjoyed themselves too. =)

MIL vs DIL

Read this very interesting article on the papers last week. It's about the 4 types of MILs that DILs fear and the type of DILs that MILs dread. Realise that it's quite applicable to me. =D

Some of the pointers really relate to me. For the benefit of those who can't read Chinese, let me do the translation. =D Please bear with me coz this is my 1st time doing translation. =S
The 4 types of MILs that DILs hate:
1) Treasure their son more than their own lives
2) If the son is good to the wife, they will get jealous
3) Wants to poke their nose into the son + wife's affairs
4) Very suspicious about the DILs
Pointers 3 and 4 is very related to my everyday life!! LOL. Maybe it's the family culture, but they just want to know what is going on in our everyday life!! I wonder if it's good or bad....
The type of DILs that MILs dread:
1) Everything evolves around the husband
2) Very self centered. Wilful. Doing things the way that she thinks is right and treating the husband like a "slave" or "follower".
3) Capable. Strong-minded. Husband is afraid of her.
I am pointer 2 and 3! LOL. I am being perceived as being very wilful and always doing things my style. Oh... and I had a good laugh when someone said that Kenneth is afraid of me... listening to me in everything and anything. Oh well, if only this is the case. LOL. They also feel that I am "capable" coz my qualification is higher. Maybe someone should tell them that there are lots of undergraduates on the streets!!
So... what type of DIL are you? Any of the above also relate to your life? =D

August 2010
Here we are... proud parents of 2 little boys. =) We have indeed come a long long long way. Went through a lot of happiness, anger, tears, quarrels and "hardships". Kenneth is a very loving husband and a doting father. Though he is very "block" (never know how to give surprises), but he is understanding and most importantly, care for the family. =) We are very blessed to have these 2 boys in our life now. Both were not planned and so they are a gift from God. =)
Happy 5th year anniversary, my dear hubby!! There will be more multiple of "5" years anniversary in time to come. =)
