Nature vs Nurture

Kayden is beginning to recognise faces. When we bring him out, people normally like to chat with him. Sometimes, he will smile back to them. Sometimes, he will look away and just stare at us. And of course, there are times, he will start to CRY.

I notice that he will only smile back to those who... ahem... looks pretty or handsome. There was once, a balding old gentleman with his large glasses, started to talk to him in the restaurant. Very rudely, Kayden just looked away and had his eyes fixed on us! It was so embrassasing. I hurriedly said that he was sleepy!

I guess, this is nature vs nurture. Everyone likes to look at pretty things. But through nurturing, we were taught to appreciate.. eh... normal stuff. I guess we need to slowly teach our little boy to love everyone, irregardless of age or looks!
