National Day Celebration

We celebrated National Day @ the Squadron on 7 Aug 09 (Friday). Prior to this date, wives were being asked to cook (voluntary) as food stalls (mostly local SG food) were set up and all proceedings were donated to a charity organization. Kenneth wanted me to make the almond jelly with longan and the quantity must be enough to feed 100 pax!! Of course, I didn't make. Ha ha... making for a small group of people (like 20+ pax) is still okie, and I also foresee there would be trouble transporting the dessert over. I contributed my "effort" by buying the food and eating them. ha ha...

Baby K met a lot of other babies that day. We saw BB Amelia, BB Valene, BB Aidan, BB Ophelia, etc. So many babies!! And as usual, Baby K was at his usual smiley and cheerful self. Smiling to everyone and never fuss one bit when people carry him. Many commented that he is a happy baby (indeed he is). I wonder why is he so "high" everyday. Is it my breastmilk that passes my cheerful vibes over to him? Ha ha... Hopefully he will remain this way as he gets older. When it was time to go home, he did cry a bit because he was tired (didn't manage to nap properly coz very noisy). His cries were so soft and gentle that BB Amelia's Mummy just couldn't believe that he was crying. And BB Valene's parents thought Baby K was laughing when they came to say good bye! Gosh....

The stage and we actually watched NDP09 on the screen! But of course, it was the preview (better than nothing).

Baby K being carried by Jeslyn Jie Jie... Very happy to be carried by pretty girl. Haha...

Carried by Mummy Wendy. Very happy again coz carried by such a pretty Mummy!!

BB Amelia... Looks soooooo pretty!!! (just like the Mummy)

BB Amelia "bullying" Baby K who is 3 months plus younger...

The stall... Chinatown! Selling Chinese food!! The egg tarts are soooo yummy!! Also have hokkien mee, fried bee hoon, etc.
Indian Food! 6 course dinner, consist of rice, veggie, curry chicken, prawns, etc.
International which was selling Thai Food..
Cityhall! Selling spring rolls, mini egg tarts, curry puffs, etc.
Malay Village just beside Chinatown! Selling long-tong, Mee Soto, Satay (yumz), kueh, curry puffs, etc.
This whole setup took few days to put everything together. And then again, it would need to take few days to put everything back in place. It was considered a grand event and massive efforts were being put in. Really kudos to those wives who cooked and the satay man who was busy fanning and cooking the satays at the Malay stall (and it's Summer now, not an easy task).
Truely enjoyed the evening! Always love interacting with people. ha ha... and seeing other babies and talking about them is really a joy!! I look forward to seeing my friends' babies in Singapore in 2 months' time!
